I think nowadays on shore and off shore revenues are almost the same. SO more number of off shore is available than onshore .

Are these Infoys, wipro etc develop any product like OS or etc ? NO they are like labours, the westerners are like architects or engineers.

I do not know when we are going to change our mentality. These billionaires feel safe to do labour than create.

there are great prducts coming out of India but they are not from these companies from small start ups

First learn to write proper code and then talk about writing OS. Problem with us is that we talk a lot and don't follow it with actions. Do you know that the Google search and even the messages you are posting here require lot of support from infrastructure teams and support teams. If Google search is down for a minute, you know what kind of impact it has. Hence, never ever look down at people providing support and services to these large corporations. Since, things are working fine, you take it for granted.

Yes, everyone is important. Even those who clean the drainage are inportant, else we can not walk on the road. But you are missing the point he made, that is creative work is not done by big companies like Infosys, but from small companies.

Do you mean that creativity cannot be displayed by folks who are in IT services? What makes you think so?

Santa, The quality of work being done (maintenance/support) is pathetic.. I manage a large onshore/offshore team and unfortunately all the fixes and code changes made in India are below par. The only attractive reason for any of these US companies to outsource is the cost, but the way the salaries in India are going up even that will not be competitive.

Revenue. Google has 22 billion dollar revenue with 22000 employee no person who is billable. Infy has 4 billion revenue with 100,000 emplyee. During bad days google thrive to innovate where as infy try to maximize the billable resource.
Intellectual property: Google has filed more patents with less people than infy.

If you still think Infy people r as creative as google, then be my guest.

Google or for that matter any successful organisations abroad success secret is they call for ideas for improvement/innovation of existing systems. They respect ideas when they come from non domain/or inter related domain people also. After collecting the ideas they give concrete shape to them whether it may be software features improvement or invention of a gadget to monitor that can be appended to a machine or education/training in a worthy practical oriented way etc etc.Don't you think even we can do that. All these they do working in close coordination with domain experts drawn from various sectors(not only IT);Whether it's software people or other domain people don't you think that even we can do.WE CAN

The challenge an Indian face is to get adjusted in the US culture. Only brave and bright fellows can do that. And you need excellent communication skills to spend a lunch time with the white.

to keep the lazy folk (72% people of india)happy and get their votes and to appease the minorities, the government keeps enhancing the taxes and duties and the real worker is not allowed to enjoy the fruits for his toil but forced to pay for the lazy fools and yet the worker (tax payer) is not recognised and respected.
How can Murthy expect youngsters, especially from the forward community to be India and be a slave to their lazy countrymen? If Murthy is really concerned about the youngsters, let him fight for the right of youngsters with the government who are indeed interested to settle in india, put in their intelligence for the country's growth and project the country to the world as equal to other developed countries like US and Europe.
Murthy is also aware that most of the american and european companies and banks have opened their operation in India not because of potential market but due to cheap but intelligent labour.

Why NRN send his son to US for studies
by Tughlak on Oct 27, 2010 06:50 PM  | Hide replies

NRN talks a lot. Why did he send his son to US for studies. He should have set an example by making him study in India only. When it comes to us we want our children to study in Harward,MIT etc.,. and settle abroad. When it comes to others they should not go abroad instead work as slaves to India IT companies

Buddy he asking people to be proud about India. So my point was why he didn't ask his son to get education in India. As far as settling abroad is concerned we all know for rich people it doesn't really matter which country they are in. Even a country like Brunei is fine for rich people. Already his son has 2 companies in his kitty Infosys and TVS (through love trap).
My advice to all youngsters is be like NRN and get rich from the slavery of others or go abroad and pursue what interests you.
