it is always good that Asian workforce and find work in Asia and North-American workforce can find work in North-Americas. It would be good for all.

I couldnt help but wonder the real reason why Mr Murthy is now lecturing kids to stay on in India. Guess what doing otherwise and getting out will imply reduction in the coolie work force , the backbone of Infy's biz model

School admissions please
by baski on Oct 30, 2010 05:53 AM

In India, it is a nightmare to secure school admissions for kids. Why would anyone settle here when we don't have to? Those who have stood in queues all night to get an application form at a good private school in India will testify. Nobody can even afford a house in a city in India without having lived abroad for sometime. When a country treats its own citizens like this, why would we stay here. India is a hostile state.

Why dont Mr.Murthy shut his mouth
by Guru on Oct 29, 2010 06:37 AM  | Hide replies

Why don't Mr.Murthy shut his mouth and let youngsters decide their future. He should practice before start preaching . Why did he send his kids to US Universities ..that too where he is a board member of those schools. If Infosys has hired american in America , then he would not be millionaire now and keep preaching others on every subject...See what he did after retired infosys as CEO , He invested crores of rupees in Microfinance company which is charging poor people more than 50% interest rate . Is it moral Mr.Moorthy . This guy is total fake .

Plight of Indian IT Companies in US
by tamtama95@rediffmail.com on Oct 29, 2010 12:55 AM

This is utterly ridiculous to say what you don't believe in. Infosys and other Indian IT companies created choas in the US market by offering low wage employees. Hire one get two free - what a competition ? They have collapsed the rate, quality and market structure. Now US companies are less reliant on outsourcing and convinced that outsourcing will not be the solution for cost cutting and cost effectives. They are rather paying higher salaries than outsourcing to some dummy cos. offshore and not ready to compromise with the quality.

I DisAgree
by v b on Oct 29, 2010 12:45 AM

I strongly condemn his statement. Infosys as a company bending knees before the clients in US for projects and asking ppl not to join IT by keeping US in mind.

IT companies in India are not self sustainable and needs projects from US/UK etc. Whoever says, India is growing by IT, that purely means IT exports are doing good not that IT market in India is good.

Meritocracy failed

How does the growth opportunity in India greater than US, when the jobs Infosys does is coming from US? Growth opportunity is there but salary is not there, how is that? Those who go abroad are not responsible for poor quality of life in India. If they dont go the quality of life here does not improve. First improve the quality of life here by providing affordable housing, education, health insurance, social security etc.

The world wants US to be successful so people will go there regardless of whatever opportunity is there in India. sometime ago, the people were saying India does not have money, now everything is there, still this is not a good place to live. US has character and principles, so people will always go there. May be people want to live in a place where there is no corruption, and the get right price for the skills.
