It's nice to see a few undegrads going places not as an employee of a MNC but as an enterprenuer. While reading the story, it was like a fairy tale that specially the ending part where some facts and figures are thrown but it establishes one fact again .... that it just needs one gud IDEA and determination to see it through. Congrats guyz for ur endaveor and all the best.
Congrats ..

Dear Sir,
Thank you.
What gave us utmost satisfaction is the impact we made to the bus industry, which is highly fragmented and unorganized. There are 1000s of bus operators running 10s of 1000s of busses across the country. There's no single place one could get information about them.
Prior to redBus, customers could not get information about...
* All the different busses plying from one location to another. He could only get a list of a few bus services, amongst which he has to choose one.
* The exact seat he would sit. He often got cheated. If someone asked for a window seat, he would be sold a ticket saying that it's s window seat. But when he gets into bus, he realizes that it's not a window seat. We solved this problem by showing the seat layout of 1000s of busses on our website.
* The correct fare. Whatever the agent said was the fare. What we showcase is the fares of multiple bus operators, directly fed by the operator himself, for us customers to choose from.

Of late, we have seen problems in fares. Because, when we gave system access to bus operators, they started putting high fares on the site. However, there's a self correction taking place now. Customers choose only those busses which have lower fare and the bus operator who puts high fare has no choice but to reduce the fare.
To further help our customers, we have put a high fare alert on services which we think are unreasonably priced.

Best regards,
redBus team

Hi Guys, Makes me proud to see one of my former colleagues having been successful. Awesome! I always use redbus, and till date have never faced a problem. The customer service angle is an important differentiator for service businesses like yours. So keep working on it.

Dear Sir,
The rates on redBus are the ones set by the bus operator and not redBus. Today most bus operators use software and they have complete control on what prices to put.
While you'll find some services at high cost, there are some services which are much lower than the regular fare.
Also, as a commitment to our customers, we have set up a 'high fare' notification on our site. Where ever the price of a service according to us is higher than the normal market fare, we put a high fare notification. We would strongly recommend you to look for 'high fare' message under the price when you make bookings next time.

Best regards,
redBus team

Never try this REDBUS service These guys are robbers
by MaximHR Services on Oct 19, 2010 04:10 PM  | Hide replies

Hey All, Please don't plan your travel with RedBus. They will loot you, they have no customer service and work in favour of Bus operators. Many times Bus operators reject to honor booking done by RedBus and you will find no one to help you at last moment... Better to Book directly through bus operators....
