wrong priorities...
by adfasd asdasd on Oct 23, 2010 06:58 PM  | Hide replies

This is another example of our service oriented mind-set....

We in India never value and encourage innovation. Probably for us success only means making money, which actually is only a by-product.

This is the reason why, when we are calling ourselves superpower in IT, we do not even have a single IT product of international acceptance leave alone dominance.

Even Infy and TCS the market leaders are happy to create applications created on platforms of the western countries.

We can never even dream of becoming a superpower, unless the world accepts our products and not just services.

Boarding point
by Rathish PS on Oct 23, 2010 06:40 PM

Hi,
I used redBus service 3/4 times on chennai -Eranakulam route. The boarding point was not mentioned in the ticket(it was just Eranakulam).I had to phone the operator in order to get the boarding point. Also since the ticket was booked via Red bus no one was aware that we will be aware that we wil board the bus from that point.Usually if it is done via agency the bus will wait till we board. But i never lost money.

Don't use services of Redbus!! terrible services!!
by R Rajkumar on Oct 22, 2010 02:42 PM  | Hide replies

I booked ticket through redbus. When went to travel for journey ticket was given to someone else.. I had to cancel the travel. Travel operator asked us to take refund from redbus. When checked with them, they said they cannot do refund.. Even the ticket which I bought through redbus was higher than what you get from open market..
Cheating seems to be the motto of redbus.. It is better for sama to go to some company and work rather than cheating people and making money
-A poor customer who has to bear the brunt of redbus!!

I had a similar experience with redbus. The operator refused to accept it as valid ticket and had its own booking for the seat. I had to do a 15hr journey from manali to delhi siting on a conductor seat. It has been 48hrs since the journey still my back is paining.
Thanks to redbus for spoiling the trip.

It appears you allowed yourself to be cheated. In this case you should have fought for compensation.

Redbus look at this !!!
by R k on Oct 20, 2010 09:06 AM  | Hide replies

My hearty congratulations to you..redbus team..
so its proved that if you come out from an iit or bits pilani and you will only work for corporates..more than that you are expected to become an enterpreneur and a corporate as the kind of pretigious institutions these or. but on the website, i have few feelings..i hope people from redbus read these
1. you need to give more appeal to the website as it looks bit light weight...may be a bit un reliable by visual appearance..think of this
2. when you publish the timings of the buses which are very confusing...eg: a kaleswari boarding points at nampally, lakdikapul, kondapur, miyapur with same timing 6.30pm..this is bit unpractical..please try to mention correct timings...as a customer we need to spend lot of time in waiting for the bus.
3. after the website shows the search results, please divide them in 2 parts...volve and non-volve and put them as per the earliest time to late time sorting method..hope this will be easy for customers to select from..

i wish all the success for redbus in future years...and it should become a eye opener or inspiring story for fresh IITans,NITs,BITS...not only looking to go abroad, join in a typical IT company...become an enterprenuer...give life to 10 others..

Dear Rk, I agree to few of the points mentioned in ur msg. However the point you have raised on the boarding timings is not correct.
Most of the operators have pickup vans for carrying passengers from various locations within Hyderabad. Diff. buses picks up the passengers at the same time from various pick up points. That is the reason you see same timings at various boarding points.

i have switched to makemytrip now
by Raj Thackersey on Oct 20, 2010 08:57 AM  | Hide replies

earlier I used to book via redbus but there was no other option then
Today I use MMT for all my travel booking, its a one stop for RAIL BUS and TRAIN
TRAIN booking is still better on IRCTC but the search facility on MMT is much better. So search on MMT and then book via IRCTC

The investors have got back the money and the founders must have made some as well, so REDBUS is definitely a success. They now need to focus on REDTRAIN, REDPLANE

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your suggestion on redTrain and redPlane.
Right now, we feel we have a lot more to do in the bus industry. What we have done till now is organized the unorganized industry ; we have aggregated information about 10s of 1000s of busses run by 1000s of bus operators across the country.
What we have to do from now on is to get them oriented towards customer service including ...
* Getting bus operators to adhere to timing.
* Getting them to train their staff for better customer satisfaction.
* Orienting them on customer loyalty by showcasing that if they increase fares unreasonably, they will lose customers in long run.

We have made some progress here; eg., by putting 'customer review' ranking on our website, we are happy to say that atleast some bus operators have been positively influenced to improve their service.

Kindly let us know your ideas on solving these issues. We will be happy to implement them.

Best regards,
redBus team

Dear Sarika,
Please read the above message of Rajkumar and such other disappointed customers and refund their money.
One genuine negative comment can tarnish your growing image. As you are trying to do a good thing of organizing a disorganized sector,we request you to make the experience of the customers dealing with you pleaseant.

Regards..

Dear Red Bus Team,
While responding to the above,YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN TO INCLUDE THE BELOW;
1) to improve your so called customer care center
2) to believe and start practicing the idea of not cheating customers.
3) believe that customer is god and not that you can take anyone's money just by cheating.

As for this comment, Sony's first product was a wooden electric cooker. Had they stopped at that invention and focussed just on cookers, then we wouldnt have had the super Sony TV's and playstations today.

If Air and Rail travel needs to meet then you can focus on holidays by bus.

Your founders need to now delegate the Bus business to committed managers and move on the expand the portfolio.

This is entirely my opinion though.

* Getting bus operators to adhere to timing.
Build an escalation matrix of the Bus operators management staff. These problems would generally be due to the ground staff and they will try to mask these delays. Encourage customers to call the Redbus helpline if the bus service is delayed, you in turn can call the people in the escalation chart and ensure that the delay is avoided or never repeated.

* Getting them to train their staff for better customer satisfaction.
Hold some workshops yourself. This will also strengthen the reputation of Redbus among the staff.

* Orienting them on customer loyalty by showcasing that if they increase fares unreasonably, they will lose customers in long run.
Be a part of the association and influence pricing, increase in fares is generally a collective decision by all operators.

At some point you will have to be a part of the system to improve it.
