Well said AS, Ludhiana needs a metro for sure, and much more than Chandigarh does. Its a case of rich getting richer and the poor un-noticed.
Already there is a railline between Alwaye and Tripunihura they can add one more track if required why they spend Rs 3,048 crore (Rs 30.48 billion), I dont understand.

anyways all u guys take reserved compartments in the express trains and it will also stop everywhere in kerala. not sure why kerala even needs a metro.

Dont worry, as long as left Govt is there nothing will happen, like Smart city & Vizhinjam port which was proposed to start by Congress 10 yr back, this will also be put into red tapes. Left never want any progress to country, they want India to be like Bengal , poverty, inefficiency & blah blah

Thats y we need metro, not just in kochi. MEMU services also hould go like that of mumbai, on separate tracks.
This will save money of Common man. Common man elect the Govt but after these leader get postion these forget the common Man. Like they imposed Toll tax eery 50 KM in Punjab. So i ask the people why they choose Govt if they cannot construct road. Today Govt spent Abt 14000 Crore in CWG but if people ask for daily need than such Govt give goli that Govt do not have money or fund

y r u putting commen man into this. ask u'rself - how many times u casted u'r vote. if u had then u r also a prt of this govt formation n if not thn thr is no point in pulling one thing to the othr n playing blame game.
Traffic police will say no Chandigarh Metro Rail becuase everyone in Chandigarh know that these corrupted department recover daily bribe @ 15000 Per day approximatly per police wala. Moreover it is just dream for everyone to have Metro in Chandigarh. But i wish God will do this. Traffic police wala will either start challing inside metro or Punjab Govt will imposed toll tax in each sector of chandigarh.

Once these projects complete indian cities will have new look,convenience. No doubt about that.But we commuters should be responsible enough to keep the trains and surroundings clean,else within a year we will end up having a stinky,dirty network for us...
They have not included Surat in the Metro list, however surat pays highest tax in whole india.
Also I am surprised to not seeing Pune, because Pune is really Cilicon valley of india. However I have found one surprise, daily Pune municipality people are searching some hidden treasure in the city and digging city everywhere. (Potholes).

yes, Puna and Surat must be there in the list. Puna not sure, but surat is due to Modi v Congress in which Modi always is winning due to the growth factor

Railway station in Pune is the dirtiest I have seen. Citi Buses look like they have not been washed in 50 years. Pune is getting step-motherly treatment.

@Wise. I am From Pune. PUNE IS NOT GETTING STEP-MOTHERLY TREATMENT, at least by Maharashtra Government.
The reason is- Politicians like Kalmadis & LAND MAFIA ARE Truly Dangerous. And FROM 1990 PUNE CITY IS in their Hands.
Regarding Buses- The Workers are not selected based on their Ability, BUT BY OFFERING BRIBE TO LOCAL Corrupted Politicians. Still, Buses in Pune are better Than those in Delhi. INCREASING POLLUTION IS REAL TROUBLE.
But it's also true that anyone who came to Pune in Last 30 years rarely wished to leave the city, PROBABLY BECAUSE ITS ATMOSPHERE IS CONSIDERED BETTER THAN THAT OF DELHI-MUMBAI AND MANY OTHER CITIES.

In pune there is a canal running through the city starting from khadkwasla and exit at Hadapsar, and passes through all important localities in the city. Along and over this canal, authorties can easily build a metro, which will not require any land acquisition. Authorities, kindly look into it.
