Not one of these cities in UP/Bihar...
by NashikMarathi on Oct 10, 2010 09:11 PM  | Hide replies

But of course all the problems of UP/Bihar are the fault of Maharashtra, Marathi people and Raj Thackeray.

So send some more of UP/Bihar migrants to Maharashtra while cursing the Marathi people some more.

Constructing Metro rail services overground on narrow roads as being done in Bengaluru will not serve the purpose of decongesting traffic.Better planning is required.

Why Bihar has been left out?At least Patna should have got one putting across d party line.It should not be seen that the Centre should have different approach for d states being run by other political parties.

We need space creation.
by bihari babu on Oct 10, 2010 02:38 AM  | Hide replies

Usually people are blinded by their selfish need. They just build houses in hurry, cheap. they dont care if there is space around for infrastructure growth. Thats why most of india looks like dirty slum.
Its time people should be made aware. its not lezy govt gonna do. its our responsibility to make some sacrifices. Also inspire others to make sacrifices. spend money and effort on building and maintaing footpath etc.
we should form group, friend circle, assiciation in each colony. We should unite people for planning of a town or city. unless we plan together. govt is not gonna do anything. they have good execuse - 'no body listen, what can we do'.
Western society is very united and they support growth work with heart mind and soul. thats why their city looks so beautiful. thier life is smooth. our whole energy is wasted on just commuting. also we cant enjoy life because its chaose and overcrowding every where. Wake up dear freind. lets tighten our belt.

i disagree i think the onus to control landuse is with govt. it out govt. who is riddled with babudom and just like to lick money and let people do what they want..
no society in the world is good enough to control itself hence govt.

What we lack is a master plan for our cities and town and the government officials are not at all sure of what is going to happen in a place in the next 10-20-30 years. If we plan, keeping in mind of the needs and wants in the next 50 years and then allocate residence/building permits accordingly, we stand a chance to get our roads and rails etc in place without disturbing people. We need political will, efficient officals and support of people.

yeti,
we also have to blame ourselves. Just see the way we litter around the places. No one cares a damn. The govt can start with a heavy fine for littering. But we could not even enforce a helmet rule: Iam not sure if this will work. In India in the name of democracy people just do not want to follow any rules. This mindset has to change.

Metro Is Cheapest
by alok Misra on Oct 09, 2010 08:38 PM

Cost wise etro will be chepest in the long run if you take into account that it runs on Elctricity. All other mode of transport is expensive. All cities above 5 Lac population should have metro or Tram . This will create lot of employment and generate enormous side development
