excellent
by DILIP YADAV on Jun 14, 2010 02:07 AM

copy pasted from article...touching lines
That you will have a sense of vision, because one of the things that this country has had has been an inability to look into the future, our business leaders have sometimes been followers rather than leaders.

For this you would need determination and a sense of belief in what you are intending to do and I believe on many, many occasions you would have doubts as to what you are pursuing would be the right thing.

But if you do believe in what you are trying to do and you pursue it and stay with it in a determined manner, I am quite sure that you will succeed.

All of you have a special role, I think, to succeed -- it is your way of proving that the investment you have made or your parents have made in your education is the most valuable investment that you would have made in your life.

VSNL was acquired by TATA's in 2002 & later in 2005 after NDA govt "ditched" Tata's by opening up the Long distance calling market to competitors before the agreed period, Teleglobe & Tycoglobes cable business was acquired.

KADUVA SACH- WORST EMPLOYEE POLICIES- THIS MAY LOOK WEIRD. BUT TRUTH. I AM AN EX EMPLOYEE OF ONE OF TATA COMPANIES. I HAD A TOUGH INTERVIEW AND VERY UNLUCKY AND GOT SELECTED. WHEN THE MARKET WENT DOWN RECENTLY SOON THEY STARTED BACKGROUND CHECK. I DIDN'T CARE BACK GROUND CHECK AS I HAVE GENUINE EXPERIENCE. THEY VERIFIED MY CERTIFICATES..THEY ARE GOOD. THEY VERIFIED MY EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATES..GUESS WHAT? I HAD TO PROVE MY SELF BY GETTING IN TOUCH WITH PREVIOUS HR..GET DOCUMENTS. I HAVE SEEN LOT OF MY COLLEAGUES SHOWN THE DOOR. SORRY FOR THEM. HAD I KNOWN THEIR STUPID TRICKS...I WOULD NEVER JOIN LOOKING AT THE NAME. I AM SURE..HOW MANY TRICKS HE WOULD HAVE PLAYED TO GET SUCH A BIG NAME? HOW MANY FAMILIES SUFFERED WITH THIS STUPID TRICKS AND POLICIES? WELL..I CAN JUST READ THE ARTICLE AND PRAISE LIKE OTHERS AND KEEP QUIET. BUT I WANT THE WORLD KNOW THE TRUTH.

ONE ADVICE TO YOUNGER GUYS...DREAM BIGGER..REACH GREATER HEIGHTS..NEVER HURT ANY ONE TO MAKE FAME AND NAME. IT WILL HURT YOU BACK SOME DAY.

Well Wisher.

Tata is a visionary
by balasubramanian sriram on Jun 13, 2010 07:48 PM

One of the best speeches I have come across where he expresses confidence in youngsters to build on their investment on education, plan for India's future which rests on villages unexplored in technological development. There is tremendous scope for India for years to come.Well done Tata and we trust in Tata brandname in all walks of life in India.Surely the spread to rest of the world would follow with professional leadership Tatas enforce as a discipline in their group which consists of over 300 companies in India.Tata code of conduct is better followed than Election Commission's code of conduct!

A reality check
by Shohini DasGupta on Jun 13, 2010 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

All you detractors need to KNOW before passing comments. I worked with the Tatas - my best job stint till date. During my tenure, I met with a severe accident while on holiday, where I lost my husband (who was also with the Tatas - a different company tho), and was so severely injured myself that I was bedridden and then at home for 6 months with a child who was less than 18 months then. As I was on leave, it was beyond the call of the Company to help me out, but help they did..... My salary continued to come in, 2nd of every month - because I had injured my right hand and could not sign cheques - so it would be credited into a personal a/c which had an ATM Card facility. My physio therapy bills which were almost 50% of my monthly salary then, were also picked up by the Company. My job was NEVER at stake. I wonder how many of you - the Tata Detractors even comprehend what that stability means. None in India can better the Tatas. A great house who are committed to their employees. To sit on the fence and comment like you is EASY. Experience them before u even talk. Today, almost 10 years down the line, I pick up a Tata Indica when I have to invest in a car. Such is the loyalty to the brand. Not too sure if people like you who have no taste of the ground reality will ever understand.....

Mr Tata, for every 1 detractor, there are uncountable ones like me, who will extend their 100% support for all your endeavours. Keep the Tata flag flying.

The Tata's
by Bennet PAES on Jun 13, 2010 07:11 PM

What is Ratan Tata wishing for in 100 years?
They are already there, now.
During my several travels abroad, I was invariably asked: "So you come from the land of Tata's, yeh?
That just goes to show that the name "TATA" is almost synonimous with India. And after JRD, it is Ratan Tata who put them on the global map.
By the way, if AirIndia cannot solve its problems, let it go back to where it came from originally - TATA.

no sugar mafia ,no clendestine background of kitchen!
by navin chawla on Jun 13, 2010 06:49 PM

This honourable person named Mr Ratan Tata has no clendestine back ground of sugar scam, running schools, colleges under the garb of charity nor a back ground of managing kitchen of any politician to become eligible for Presidentship. He is representing an honest set up working for the economic and social upliftment of this country..India.Tata itself is another name of honesty and purity in totality.
