- Totally un-substantiated, rhetorical and cynical comment-makers these rediff eye-ballers. Irresponsible ... supine, sycophantic and self-righteous graffiti 'atristes' ... sad actually ... so many can't see the wood for the trees.
Meanwhile, I know of many of my gen. personally planning for immigration to and retirement in India give or take 25 yrs., whynot?

1.it's not just India that brought economic reforms(Towards capitalism) after 1992 but several countries especially in southern America brought changes and India is one among them. (due to collapse of USSR)
2. Capitalism fits to those societies(people) who could accomplish reasonable level of control over law and order and good judiciary and administrative systems. India's performance is abysmally poor in these fields so capitalism will obviously be "exploited" by the rich and powerful. This can lead to severe crisis in next decade in India.
3. I am surprised to see the economist in the article rediculing the "Human development Inidex"(HDI) parameter to describe nations accd to ehich India lies at 119. In fact this is the parameter that tells the true story of affairs.
GDP (nomonal) or GDP (PPP) are misleading. According to them India fares better than Norway...and similary pakistan fares better than Newzealand!

Also we need to understand that because of foreign exchange crisis, the approach was reactive and not proactive ! And india is still reluctant reformer what with legacy mindset especially in Congress who still harbour outdated notions despite China's embrace and are stodgy old men . However worst crime of reformists barring telecom sector is that only rich are getting richer. Common men with fixed income and seniors are being killed by inflation and heartless bureaucracy still makes life of common man miserable because wherever he has to interface with sarkari nokar, he faces much more corruption day by day and bureau crats are not made accountable about public burden. Dr Singh has miserably failed to reform bureaucracy while he is enjoying accolades for doing something for few rich people. Even NRGEA corruption money is going to Rich farmers and district bureaucrats but not common people. Dr Singh has designed system where even CAG has right to audit only the procedures ! and not more ! So much for reforms. It is ok for people from abroad to praise the sarkar without realising the ground realities for common man. Sometimes I wish if these people in high position demand bureaucratic reforms and make PM act on it and make PM do same thing at state level.
the con gis have been the biggest disaster for the nation on the whole under every acspect.it was actually chandrasekhar as pm who gave the first push towards economic reforms with narasimha rao and ab vajpayee giving it a further push.the present govt. under manio controlled mms is a total failure in all fronts though do not blame mms for it but the sychophants within that party who have already come to a foregone conclusion that the next pm can only be rg and only rg whatever the public gives vote.

that mean more money is here. deal is deal. It is progress, beleive it or not. Also on this so called telecom 2g scam. I think it is smokescreen. the rates of 2g in india are lowest in the world. So think we could have same rates had telecom companies have to give so much spectrum money to govt. see t he rates in west. They are so high. People use limited mobile in west compare to india. In india we more people talking easliy helsp the ecnomy grow. help depression eases & so many things..
in the pre-1990 days, has now occuppied the sphere of education, from kinder-garten to the universities. sanctions, reservations, prescription of fees, inspections to collect money in suitcases, appointment of vice-prone presons as vice-chancellors, etc. education in india is crying for the same reforms which rajiv gandhi gave to the economics of india. centre should take urgent steps to release the sphere of education from the corrupt grips of state-governments, by retrieving from being the state-subject. expertnal inputs to sound educ, along with internet-based learning can help maintain standards, if the squeeze of the corrupt state polits as school-lords, college-lords and govt-lords is removed. freedom for kids to go from any school or college in india to anyother at the end of every year/semester, will help the educ-waters find their levels nationally.
Just 10 years back no one in India can think in dreams also that most powerful country in the world USA will come to third world country India for creating jobs in USA. I can't believe it.India has reached this leave in short time All because of Dr Singh as Finance Minister and now PM. Just 10 years back no one even talks about China and India. Only USA, UK and Europe were King. But time cycle changed so fast that today everyone even in developed countries all are taking about India and China success.

The National Wealth in these countries has been transferred to their own accounts by the Globalists, who are mainly dishonest.MM Singh is a member Club Of Rome,a Globalist body, and his honesty has been exposed in the 2G spectrum scam. India will also be bankrupted.

It is the hard working people in the country who are responsible for whatever progress has been achieved inspite of the Corrupt, looter, narrow minded, oxymoronic, pseudo secular and pseudo democratic congress.
