by Ninu N on Dec 03, 2010 07:12 PM

This dude lives in hypothetical world. Please live in India for a year in sweltering heat under usha fan, travel in public transportation and then only think about making high and mighty comments about Indian economical development. This is no cup of tea for airconditionawallas flying class hypocrits.

by Dev on Dec 03, 2010 06:21 PM

yes market has improved a lot..more choices and we dont have to chase the foreign goods from NRIs..
but teh cities still look CR*P!!! just CR*P!

terrible really! so transformation is really only a 10% change. ie, if you take a pie chart o,then the reforms have affected a 10% segment. ie, consumer market
but other things remain EXACTLY SAME! OR WORSE NOW!

PV Narasimha rao

PV is the architect of modern India. He is the person behind reforms. congress (Sonia) ditched him. Now the country is full of scams. MMS with PV as mentor has done magic. The same MMS with Sonia as mentor is a puppet now.

PV was the most corrupt. Please google for "MM Singh and the Rothschilds".
His corruption enabled the Rothschilds and the IMF to PLANT MM Singh in India's political scene and corridors of power,in a big way.

An inherently rich country like India was made poor for 50 years by "Socialistic" Policies
of Nehru [MMS was an active partner in that]. Liberalisation was forced on us and PVN had the guts to do it. Left to themselves the Nehru Family would have totally destroyed India!

Economic Growth & a Corrupt Govt!
by kraft on Dec 03, 2010 06:08 PM  | Hide replies

All this economic Growth due to the innate ingenuity and hard work of us Indians, but we have a Congress Government which eats away a bulk of this wealth through Corruption!
What is the use of a "CLEAN" PM when he allows
a major share of the income to be cornered by Rajas, the DMK Bandicoots, the traditional
Corrupt Congressmen? You see the inflation and you will realise that 90% of India is living below poverty line! How long can this go on? You can expect a French Revolution here[You know who the new Mary Antonette is!]

90% of India is living below poverty line is wrong.
India has 650 million of Mobile users in the world 2nd highest after China. Out of every 100 Indian 60 are using Mobile phone.Even a beggar in the street is holding Mobile Phone in India.
How many people living below poverty line in India can be calculate on the base of Mobile users in India.

This is how economic reforms have transformed India

Yes, there is a big and envious economic growth. But, there are serious flip sides to this growth and the obsession of the Indian Govt to GDP Growth.
1) The disparity between the rich and poor has certainly widened. It is a different matter that the average incomes of the Middle class have also grown. But, that does not mean that the disparity has reduced.
2) The spending of the Govt on Social Sectors are abysmally low and not keeping up with the need.
3) The growth has also fueled unbridled corruption at the highest level of the Govts.
4) Much of the growth comes from internal consumption and not from Exports, which would have been much more healthier. In the long run that will be a serious disadvantage. India probably hardly has any trade surplus against any country of importance.
5) The major driving force of this economic growth is the financial markets, much of which is based on investments by FIIs. Point to be noted here is that this money does not belong to India at all. The slightest hint of flight of this capital could lead to serious problems. Though one may say that investment in India is much better yielding than other options at present with the FIIs.
6) In the obsession of the Govt to achieve growth, they have forgotten that Inflation is a serious issue facing the citizens. Food prices are at the highest ever and there seems to be no let up. So, the increased incomes are now insufficient to meet the expenditure due to high inflation.

Economic reforms have transformed third world country India
by Kumar on Dec 03, 2010 05:36 PM  | Hide replies

Just 10 years back no one in India can think in dreams also that most powerful country in the world USA will come to third world country India for creating jobs in USA. I can't believe it.
India has reached this leave in short time All because of Dr Singh as Finance Minister and now PM.
Just 10 years back no one even talks about China and India. Only USA, UK and Europe were King. But time cycle changed so fast that today everyone even in developed countries all are taking about India and China success.

I FULLY AGREE WITH KUMAR. Dr.MM Singh has really done excellent job. We are No1 in the world in software and Aero space. We are second to none in missile tech. Our boys are highest paid in USA. very good.
but we are:
1. most corrupt nation in the world. 2. Worst infrastructure in the world- power/roads etc 3. most uncivilized in the world- every one spits/urinates every where. 4. most dirty in the world with uncollected garbage in all cities. 5. poorest in train/road mode of travel. In mumbai 2000 travel in a compartment designed for 200 while a metro bus Madras carries 200- miserable to sight even 6. Beggers everywhere.
If the polticians of all party can be dumped into sea and replaced with persons like late Kamaraj/ Late PS Kairon/ Bansilal/ Late Vasant Sathe/ AK Antony- we will be No1 in all aspects. Till then we are the worst in the world.
