there may be some other reason
by rajesh sinha on Aug 25, 2010 10:05 PM

we love to express opinion. but the reason of disallowing mining may be hidden and the reason may be our national interest I feel. what we know about vedanta, we know a lot about ambani and tata. if dawood purchases mining land by putting pawans then what would happen. why vedanta is so very agressive about india. reasons we need to know. i belive in the judgement of our politicians in this regard

Howmany in India and among the educated know that "vedanta" group has nothing to do with any hindus...? Infact its promoters donate huge chunk of money for convertion activities of the christian missionaries...and to hide this fact they named the group 'vedanta"!..the vay one of the major acheiver priest in Panchamahal district (the biggest tribal district in terms of land area) of Gujarat had named himself father Gaikwad, to cash on the respect tribes of Gujarat had towards the Baroda Royal family! He belonged to Kunnamkulam of Kerala with a name on official records Father John!
Why did Nitish want to help them? That tell the sad story of India where the so called secular parties sold their ideals for a few votes and other administrative support! The entire administrative system in Orissa, as in Nagaland, Meghalaya Manipur and Arunachalpradesh in in the clutches of christian missionaries...The killers of Swami Lakshmanananda saraswati promised Nitish that they would arrange for enmass voting for him by the their lambs in the last election and Nitish is paying the price....
Probabaly most of the "secular progressive environmentalist-journos" jumped into aggressive campaign thinking that vedanta must have been a "sangh parivar " venture!

Do you mean just like Vedanta cam with BIG bucks for the state ministers? If it's politics at the Centre, let's not fool ourselves that Vedanta is politics of the state too.

how dare you want development in orissa?

U morons should realise Orissa is a backward state. How can you dream of industrialisation in Orissa. It should only belong to a Cong bastion like Delhi where money will be spent and Sheila Dixit and Sonia Gandhi will make merry. Orissa is the land of tribals and backwards.
P.S. Of course Sonia has said if Vedanta comes in with a few suitcases of Euros and dollars, she will give up the cause of tribals.

Dont worry...Sonia and Oscar Fernades and Tom Vadakkan will make sure that the Company gets clearance...The will remove Jairam Ramesh if needed...and he is also looking for a "VP Singh type" of exit from Congress....for a little longer validity!....

SENSELESS ARGUMENT OF Mr.MOHANTY!.
by sudhakar sk on Aug 25, 2010 09:48 PM  | Hide replies

Govt. should go one step further and
arrest ANIL AGARWAL
for the criminal voilation of Environmental Law by
his group Vedanta.

This would set example for other voilators
like Reddy's of Karnataka.

If Ex-CM Apang can be arrested why not
Anil Agarwal and Reddy Bros.

Our Governments will allow Money goons to establish factories like Union Crabide, other nuclear suppliers to act on their own will..Good that atleast now they are now protesting against the evils like illegal mining,Vedanta and others like RIM BlackBerry..
We invite Industrialization with less damages to Human, environmental and not at the cost of our country's people,Climate, security etc.

We produce enough aluminium for the country
by whipray fish on Aug 25, 2010 09:43 PM  | Hide replies

As a nation we produce enough aluminium for our own consumption. All the proposed new units inlcuding Vedanta are going to export the metal. Why are our netas in such a tearing hurry to finish off all our bauxite mines within the next 25 years? What happens after 25 years? India has to import aluminium at exhorbitant prices obviously from foreign countries.
