YOur comparison is utterly baseless. If Americans take away our highly qualified labour and profit then what do you have to say. They create wars and dismantle /destroy countries for their profit then what do you have to say. They destroy people and their belongings for their research and dump their liabilites all over the world ,then what do you have to say.

they create wars and destroy countries for their nations interest, their citizens are safe in their country.
And our country cant do a shit if some fking terrorist come to our country can kill 200 people then accept the fact that ours is aPUSSY country who doesnt know how to protect its citizens.
So suck it up and stop saying india has 3rd largest army in world.

what about making India an America
by David Johnson on Aug 09, 2010 11:48 PM  | Hide replies

why can't we all work hard and in the right direction and progress our country as to take it ahead of america.., so that one day these american begs for the Indian visa and we show them our muscles..

It can happen but one of the biggest bottleneck is is1am..

is1amik ppl produce the kids like cats and dogs and hence increase their population with the aim to make India mos1em majority and ultimately slave of pakistan..

there agenda is to repeat 1947..

kerala is the live example of that..

due to increasing mos1em population.., govt is doing their appeasement and giving them reservation etc and hence taking the country further into he backward direction and more danger to national security..

In one way Infy is abusing the H1B visa by exportng below talented professionals to USA. They started issuing this coveted visa with a purpose but that is not served. They should actually hire local workers to do the job. So it benefits the american people. Infy can make profits by billing their indian employees in dollars. This may reduce the Infy profits but this is an ethical way of doing business.

I work as a Independent consultant at a Investment Bank which has outsourced to TCS. When we complain about the quality, you know what the American Executive'ss solution was? He said well you have to work with them so train them to come up to the speed. This is the dilemma, the CIO, CTO's sign the contract at very cheap price and the burden falls on the PM, Project Leader, Architect to work with inexperienced skill set. I had to repeat more than ten times to explain to Indan team that basically an ETL tool can connect to any OLE DB, ODBC, ADO, flat file source. Most of them do not even bother to do any research, reference, they just want to be spoon fed. The IT professional are not the same what it used be 10 years ago. I do not know why? but it is the fact.

These days it has become fashionable in America to blame anything that is foreign, whether it is "British" Petroleum, or Infosys or Toyota.

One must give credit to the Americans for having opened the doors of their economy to overseas corporations when the times were good. which other country would oblige others in the same manner. What is the great virtue of Indians, is it really our so called aptitude for software writing, is creativity? There is no reason to believe that. It is only that we are paid in rupees and government takes care that dollar that IT companies earn fetches more rupees that it really is worth. It helps both ways, it keeps the cost of Indian produce lower than competitors because buyers have to pay less dollars and it makes imports for foreign made goods expensive in rupee terms forn the common Indian to buy. In the process, however, the policy fuels inflation at home because of excessive release of rupees for dollars in the internal economy which starves the comman man of even the essential commodities. it is time that the true worth of the IT industry was assessed under the present circumstances.

Is it not true?
by Suresh Bhave on Aug 09, 2010 11:42 PM  | Hide replies

in fact, Infosys and the setups of its ilk are no more than tailor shops. The master tailor abroad, the overseas client, chalks the lines on the cloth, rolls it up and throws it down to the sweat shop owners in India ordering, make this pajama or make this trousers and the machines whir to produce the ordered garment. it is another version of the screwdriver technology. nothing is original indian, the languages, the machines, even the communication technology. Exemption from labor laws has made these companies highly exploitative and government has labored to keep the US dollar costly for the benefit of the sweatshop owners. The halfbaked apparently modern management practices that these companies use are affecting other industries as well. They have bred a new generation of arrogant Indians in their employees who spend their salaried on liquor and cigarettes and disturb the peace of neighborhood by their barbaric late night orgies. These companies teach their employees wetern table manners and, as rumored, even how to use a bath when sending them to serve on the client sites, but never care to tell them how to behave well in India. To society at large these companies and their way of working is a bane. the senetor is right, there is no love lost between common Indian and the software sweatshop owners. They are so idiotic that they refuse even to give a letter of recommendation to employees leaving to study abroad, forget providing security from criminals.

What we Indians aught to do is nurture originality at home. The best of our talent goes abroad and finds the nurturing soil and friendly climate in societies that appreciate good work. It is far cry from the Indian software giants that are riddled by parochialism and petty politics. I come across many IT employees and hardly any one of them says that on enjoys working for these so called giants. Their exploitative ways are straining family relationships and endangering the very social substratum in which human genius can grow to its full flower. They have created the myth of 'fast world'. It is alluring for young geeks to feel that they are living a fast life and being stress fit is the thing to be. In fact, they are playing into the hands of the slave drivers to prove that 'they can take it'. they do not know what they are losing because they lack experience and, being young, pride themselves in their ability to tolerate working into unearthly hours for weeks on end and be honored with such infantile awards as pat on the back, feather in the cap and star of the month etc. The pride that these innocents sometimes express for having won such carrots is pitiable. It is an illusion that the IT giants and the government have created to amass dollars to finance their own fabulaously luxurious lives.

These dim wit Senators are paid by Global companies.
by kanu kangal on Aug 09, 2010 11:40 PM  | Hide replies

to divert attention, American public is seething anger towards corporate corruption like Goldman Sacchs, UBS, BP etc.

Why is he blaming Infosys????

Infosys did not put a gun on all these company executives head to OUTSOURCE.

These corrupt executives outsource as a cost cutting measure. But the benefit of cost cutting is not passed to American consumer( they pass 5 cent to every $1) in terms of cost or increased dividend to Investors. Instead they award themselves millions in cheap stock options and millions in Bonus.

USA is an open market with very, very high competition for low quotes...so if u have a company and can quote less...u can get work from there...remember..you have to work other than commenting here....hello...are u there? gone? ok bye...

I agree about the quotes..but the US companies are now realising..and half of them are cancelling the contracts of this silly outsourcing..which destroys the moral of other US employees..Also there is no productivity at all...If you are a indian techie..you have to smoke for every one hour...with coffee..internet browsing..play politics...work after hours to get extra...Looks like you are one of them...

I agree with you totally. But don't forget ACCENTURE which is even bigger thug. They are now not even a American company but based in tax heaven Bermuda.

At the same time you also need to know that all the Merrill Lynch's, Morgan Stanley's, CITI, UPS etc. executives are the driving factors of Outsourcing. If WIPRO, TCS etc.. were not there they would have gone to any other country like Ireland, Chile etc.. who do the same but may be at a slightly higher rate.
Tomorrow if china opens up companies like INFOCHINCHUN, TCSTINGTUNG, WIPROWINGWANG these US companies will go them.. SO the problem here is not INFOSYS or TCS or WIPRO
