by S Narain on May 01, 2010 05:39 PM  | Hide replies

IIT,ians for a change work great innovations

in India!!

Mostly they work in US cos like intel,MS,IBM

where They develop products in cutting edge

technologies. These US cos have reseach budget

of billions of $.........whereas Indian

budgets are minscule..& to succed in that

environment..it is real great indeed......

Indian environment is ripe for scandoulous and

corrupt money like IPL..where few cheats make

billions by fraud...

In this fraud atmosphere, only few have

succeded like Infosys,Tatas.

Great job done & congratulations young turks

@madwa
talk dont abuse , what is ur temetiry
it is true every product by big companies is asembled , here the guys are claiming it as an inovation looking at the config and the lack of further info it doesnt impress much ,here is some more info copied from a site You might not know but you will even find a PS3 clone in China that too at one fourth the price of the original PS3. Now it is time for the Apple’s new iPad, the Chinese iPad enthusiasts can now buy the counterfeit version of the tablet from a number of small stores in Shenzhen, China according to reports by Reuters. Chinese are way ahead in copying technology then we can ever imagine. The bad thing is that these clones have really short life and durability apart from that you won’t get any warranties either. According to a shopkeeper iPad knock-off, which runs Windows and features three USB ports, is competitively priced: 2,800 yuan ($410) compared to Apple’s iPad, priced between $500 and $830. Reuters described the knock-off as a giant iPhone, and Lin said future generations would look even more like the real thing

PS I TOO CAN CALL U MANY NAMES SO BETTER CONTROL

Thumbs up for Flash!
by PK on May 01, 2010 12:27 PM  | Hide replies

Close on the heels of yesterday's online rant by Steve Jobs against Adobe Flash technology, it does come as a breath of fresh air for millions of potential buyers that Adam tablet supports Flash. Already, spec for spec it beats the pulp out of the iPad. Things like HDMI, Multitasking, USB will appeal to a global market for sure. These lack of these very things made me stay away from the iPad.

My only caveat - Guys please sure you test this thoroughly. I can tell you for sure there is a tremendous market out there if you keep your UI slick and apps run seamlessly (including Flash). Please dont release a half baked product or your hype wont last you. Test, test, test and burn the midnight oil before you release it to the world. My money is on you! Any news on the UK release date?

Congrats on your hard work and achievement! Wish you loads of success. Will be following your blogs Rohan!

Rightly put. Where we indians fail is testing. We do not test our products properly and have the habit of laid back attitude once the design is completed. TEST TO MAKE IT THE BEST. All the luck to you guys.

Verdict: Lots of interviews, Zero Results. Good Try but sorry.

Sorry, a touch screen is not a tablet. Sourcing everything from Taiwan is not innovation either.

Apple, IBM, Intel get most of their components from Taiwan, China, Philippines...what's wrong with that, now that everything's outsourced. Taiwan made electronic components are the best in the world. Adam PC, or the interview with Rohan or more innovators should go to TED or some other brighter website, gauging by the replies here, esp comparing the other content of this website.

Re: Re: Re: Read almost a similar interview

Quite right. Apple, IBM, Intel Notion Ink are all "design" companies only. They outsource manufacturing to China and Taiwan. This is what is happening since the 80s. Initially, in the 50s, Japan was known for their low-cost low quality products, however, they realised that low quality wont be tolerated so they begged to differ. Over time, they forged quality and excellence into their products. Being an entreprenuer, risking it all, is fine thought. But what matters in the end is quality and service of zero-defect product which ultimately grants sustainability in any business venture. In the meantime, the Taiwanese got brighter and started designing the stuff themselves, thus bringing ACER and many such firms into prominence. It is quite possible that they might not have the talent that Apple has, but they know they will pounce back and are OK with Apple leading the way. What I like about Apple is its zero-tolerance to shoddy apps, and "windows-like" performance of its software. It does not deter in using the best-in-class materials, chip design, and manufacturing processes, inspite of cost. Thats why, if ADAM wants to think they can beat APPLE in 3-4 years, they will have to forge the quality path of software and that they ensure the quality of 3rd-party applications based on Android (hardware will be taken care of by their Taiwanese representive, i think). Let us hope this works out all fine.
