our IQ level is very high too...isn't that a bit too racist to say something like that. Why are they letting her speak. Imagine if someone had to make a statement that men have higher IQ.

That is BS. IQ levels must translate to innovations , Nobel prizes...I don't see that.

I measure the success of the nation by looking at the state it is in.Look around you and then make such statements. All innovations happen in US,Japan and Europe. Its hard to believe that indian students are brilliant and yet my nation is a cesspool( craphole ).

Thnks for letting us know that india is a craphole, but you are forgetting the fact that for innovations to come through, you need to have a huge infrastructure and an atmosphere for them to come through.... if that is what you refer to, then i might agree, as indians are gr8 in researching something, but creation on a large scale is a hinderance due to above mentioned facts. working in a multinational setup, i can see our knowledge base being higher than others, but we do not haave the same facilities provided to us as (for eg) the europeans do!!

Its more than that. Look at the people we elect.Doesn't that tell you something. Our nation is getting deeper and deeper into the hole and soon it will implode.

need more
by gaurav saini on Nov 04, 2009 04:25 PM

we are producing some brilliant students but a majority of the crowd fails to get quality education . i ve seen the functioning of a lot of technical institutes at state level and what happens there is not encouraging
1 pvt institutes teachers are underpaid they cant even perform basic experiments in lab properly
2 students are only interested in completing the required lectures and geeting boozze
3 the college management is only interested in making money, they resort to all possible means for this ,
the IITS AND IIMS ARE AN EXCEPTIION AND A MINORITY IN THIS HUGE COUNTRY . AGREED THEY ARE THE BEST OF BEST BUT THE OVERALL EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE IS CRUMBLING
i am sorry to say that perhaps only due to the good economic progress else we will soon have a large crowd of educated but poor skilledyouth

India needs Compulsary Primary education
by CKB on Nov 04, 2009 03:42 PM

India had set up IIT and IIM's to develop America, GCC and Europe. All the money spent on these creme de la creme students is used by those countries for their development. India should concentrate and improve primary education sector, rather than leaving it to private schools who make money out of education. Education for all and free up to Higher Secondary and funded by government will change the country in 10 years from now.

our students were always better than americans but our education is CRAP...
Why do the best of our students (people with cgpa of 9 still go out for further studies..) thatis because we dont have the kind of teachers, the kind of setup that they do...
How many college books have been written by us indians which are followed abroad??
Let me elaborate some more-
Hansraj college is the most prestigious college in Delhi. The cut off percentage for addmission into computer science is 90% plus. companies like google and infy offered job packages worth 1 lakh per annum there ...BULL SHIT .. how worth is such an education...
i am an ex-IITan, working in the oil industry.. i am paid WAY BELOW what my counterparts with foreign education are paid...
In my present company, i had a colleague who had done a 1 year course from the UK.. although she was never good at studies in india but her dad was rich.. she was paid 3 times as much as i am.
indian education will ruin your future.

The Comparison between Indians and Americans/ Europeans are Indians are jack of all and master of none whereas brilliant students of the countries mentioned above are having thorough knowledge about their subjects and you cannot browbeat them. However the average foriegner are amazed at the knowledge of jack of all-Indians

Main comparison Indian learn a trade and know nothing more his education is only to make money and knows nothing else and since he is unread, uneducaed, illiterate in everything else he cant be a progresive person as we see the country going to hell. We see people paying more money for petrol and eletricity then america yet americans pay higher salares and get better service yet Indian fools. Education just teach how to learn a trade and be better fools and servents to foriegn while this country is ran by incompent ooph claiming to be VVIP's.

Purpose of education
by Vivek Dev on Nov 04, 2009 09:11 AM

The purpose of education is to teach students how to use their head. But education in India is least concerned with that. Consequently the only people in India who can use their heads are dabbawalas and other headload carriers.

Americans are very creative
by abhishek mawle on Nov 04, 2009 06:52 AM

It is wrong to say Indians outperform Americans, Indian may be good at crunching numbers but Americans are very good at playing politics and creativity. See their Hollywood films.

Where is the innovation?
by Srinivasan Ashok on Nov 04, 2009 06:52 AM

Her statement doesn't make any sense. The only innovated product from India in recent year is TATA Nano car. How many Indians got Nobel prize in Science so for?. Very few. The problem is, India has lack of Research center and Education system encourages to score more marks then come up with new ideas.
