I am from UP and I really laughed on your great thought proceess. People like you are called "LITERATE FOOLS". When the whole world will be under recession do you think you can isolate the north India.
The demand for agricultural and textile goods will go down if there will be lesser buyers.

India is going through recession because the industry has been concentrated in five South Indian states (Maha other 4). People in these states are pretenders and their knowledge of various subjects is very poor. It had to happen in any case. I am happy that this recession will only hit these 5 states and not the rest of India. To them I say: as you sow, so shall you reap.

As UP and the surrounding northern states never moved upwards economically and were rock bottom which means they have been under a perennial recession. By your logic, they will not be impacted in a downturn because anyway they were at the bottom of the pile and cannot fall any further. One has to move up, only then there is a chance to slide back.

Only maharashtra has UP/Bihar migrants in large numbers not rest of the southern states. In any case, in Maharashtra due to recession construction activity has gone down tremendously so many of these recent migrants have also gone back.

The fool asked the wiseman..."father how will i feed my family i have lost my job?"

The wiseman smiled-"Son,your time shall come...thou are being flogged today...tomorrow..you shalt flog"!.

Moral of the story: The recession wont last for eternity and when it ends...you can flog all these companies...for then is your chance...

Speak the reality
by kumar bala on May 14, 2009 06:46 PM  | Hide replies

Our Home & Ex-Finance minister looks only at
wholesale price index and boasts of 0% inflation, while the reality is otherwise . These fat politicians as they have been doing for the last 60 years are the ones who have never faced recession & would continue to be successful as long they sit on public money.

Whats stopping a smart stalwart like you from joining politics, getting elected and correcting all the problems you have outlined ?

Aaaah....I see, who will write here then - thats why you only write here right ? Bhai mere - if knowledgeable people like you dont join politics, it will continue to happen. Politicians know you cant do anything to them and they have a freehand to do what they please.

In democracy, you vote because you want the elected representatives to take care of the problems that you can't face or resolve. If the elected representatives themselves loots you in such a way that not only your cloths but the hair on your body also disappear, what do you expect people to do? It is very easy to say "slave mentality" but do actually something about it. what can YOU do about it?? and FI why dont we see you in prime ministers chair next time GE is held? stop preaching others gentlemen...

Agreed no sign of recovery for next 12 months
by Prashant shah on May 14, 2009 06:45 PM

Most of the sectors are cutting down there expenses to be in the market during this recession period. Economic growth across all countries is in -ve zone or shows a growth which can't generate jobs to absorb so many laid offs employees across all sectors. Unemployment is also at all time high across globe but actual figures are not been disclosed in India because no political parties will be able to reverse the situation in a quarter or so it will take 12 months for whole economy to recover.

Satyam will layoff 12000
by JaganKK on May 14, 2009 06:44 PM

It may be true...There is a very little sign og improvement still not with all companies.Few take recession as good reason and started exploiting employees. While other companies are still being hit...means just to maintain their figures in Balance sheet employees are thrown out.
i heard that TechMahindra wanted to retain only 30000 satyam employees.Whats the future of rest????????
