Sadness across Deccan Peninsula...
by UP Guy on May 14, 2009 09:14 PM

Economic recession has hit Deccan peninsula very badly. Because of the recession Tata Motors shuts down its plants very frequently these days. Why will they want to produce cars when there are no buyers left? To top it all there are bogus companies like Satyam/Maytas who had just stolen the investor money in billions. They have no intellectuals left to solve these problems, only people like Raj T of MNS fame. Sad stuff I would say...

Recession of Ideas & Values
by Anshuman Vora on May 14, 2009 09:01 PM  | Hide replies

In stead of constructive thoughts , OBJECTIVE feedback or empathy , it is sad that such blogs degenerate into North-South arguments . Are we educated professionals as mediocre as our political leaders ?

We Indians are destined to break into 1000 different countries becoz we don't know what unity is, we only talk without knowing what are we talking about, our egos are bigger than our ass, we do not value our people, our culture and our language, we only want to fight with each other because that gives us a sense of manhood and we never have a bigger picture whenever we think of any problem or are lazy enough to take a short cut instead of having a comprehensive approach to a complex problem...

You've hit the nail, mate !

Well said and well analysed. How I wish all the people who throw venom at each other get to read your message.

Regionalism is taking on ugly proportions in our country now and it is in oour hands to be sensible enough to first think and then talk.

What will happen to these techies?
by UP Guy on May 14, 2009 08:39 PM  | Hide replies

Article informs us that companies are all set to reduce their staff by 20%. That is a huge number. The other day rediff reported that so many H-1B techies are also continuously returning home. What will happen to all these unemployed people? How does South India plan to rehabilate them because 99.99% of these dudes are from South? May they should learn the art of agriculture, or may be nano-agriculture by growing rice in pots and pans!

not to worry they have earned to last a life time that is why they go to US, once they return cost of living in india will increase , only those working in india in indian company will suffer very badlly, we need to stop them from returning, or they should give back there large saving to US and return emty handed as show the US they are true Indians and dont care for money.

DO NOT BELIEVE IT- THINGS ARE IMPROVING NOW
by manu singh on May 14, 2009 08:25 PM  | Hide replies

We have hit the bottom of the recession cycle, and things will get better from here onwards. The revival of any economic tide is dependent on Infrastructure and fixed assets sectors like manufacturing and automobiles etc. and they are showing considerable improvement compared to the previous two quarters.
Even the actual loss to these sectors was significatly less then expected.
SO EVERY ONE CHEERS AND BE POSITIVE.

Boss, in world there is always duality. What i mean to say in your own house you may be more competitive than your own brother. does it mean that you wont help him in the hour of need. Survival of the fittest is for animals. HUMANS need to help their brethren(as he is bestowed with the intellect to share and care!!!!).

IT obsession to blame...
by UP Guy on May 14, 2009 08:23 PM  | Hide replies

South Indian states (all 5 of them) put all their eggs in one basket namely IT industry. This industry is ill defined. How many companies and people can flourish doing same type of things, writing same type of codes, and producing similar software? IT obsession of south has taken it down this dark road of recession. And there is no exit clause here. As you sow, so shall you reap.

Consequences of the recession...
by UP Guy on May 14, 2009 08:01 PM  | Hide replies

Since Hindi belt is agriculture based, and food prices will only increase, the Hindi north will flourish. In the South IT industry will hit rock bottom leading to massive job losses. Moreover, all H-1B visa holder Southies will return home leading to social unrest. Agricultural north will progress as a result, will in South everything will move southwards. This is what I foresee over next few years...

I would like to add that as the recession intensifies in the south, attacks on North Indians will increase. So it is better that northies head home and not get caught in the social unrest which is bound to occur in the south sooner or later.
