What some of the chaps here are saying
is that Rediff should have shoved this

No need to panic
by MP Raju on May 14, 2009 05:25 PM

Whatever may happen in near future, it cannot continue till the end-of-world. People will continue to live and they will find ways to live and that will again activate the economy. No need to panic. This is an opportunity for individuals to look into themselves and find what corrections need to be done and what mistakes to be avoided in future.

Please dont create fake headlines. Some of the employees are so weak hearted that they commit suicide from the fear of loosing jobs.
Refrain from cheap tactics of increasing the popularity.

Dude.... what Rediff says may not be poltically correct or have some amount of sensationalism but the fact remains now that the elections are over and the chances of a new stable govt. remote - job cuts are now indeed going to happen en masse. Forget the language or tone or style of what rediff has written - bottom line remains that mayhem is looming in front.

The real effects of the recession which has been banging the world will now be felt in India. So save every ruppee you have and start cutting down all useless expenditure. The next 6-7 months are going to be tough. See what happens to the stock market between now and Diwali. It will touch 7000 if not lower.

What do you mean by cut staff by 20%
by Mohd Avase on May 14, 2009 05:20 PM

You are telling about major firms are cutting their work force at the same time these so called firms are struggling to deliver projects because they are struggling to get proper people to do the job. Hence cutting the work force is not the solution but increasing the quality of their work is the solution

Rediff mail's such depressing news encourages many companies which are not going through losses to lay off their workforce or freeze the employees salary.Taking advantage of the situation , they are depriving the employees of their legitimate earning .

You speak as if you know everything..why donot you become the economic advisor to the new govt? There is recession,no doubt about it.. but, sectors are still showing good performance, albeit less than what they did earlier. We should always be optimistic about everything..Every bad thing throws up something good.. May be we will have a new economic world order after this..since many countries are disillusioned about the might of dollars..who knows?

Wrong Headline.
by Surya Prakash on May 14, 2009 05:12 PM  | Hide replies

Why are you misleading people with such headlines ? You start with Indian companies cutting jobs by 20% and immediately shift to foreign companies without giving more details of the Indian scenerio. We all know that Global companies are all downsizing their companies to survive. Pl come out with facts substantiating your news that Indian companies are downsizing by 20%.

I am also agree on this. Unnecessary misleading the ppeple of India. Rediff has huge members if you spread this kind of messages to their readers this will create a panic situation. So please do not misguiede the citizens & let them do their work. making this kind of ridicules news in front pages will spoil the bmorale & threat amongs normal people. So better you correct & avoid this kind of information. If you want to give the information give on the opportunity for young professionals or the developemnt part or the career options for the students after X & XII.
