what we have seen above that great...what the students they have done really good. my point is that in that 1.2 billion people country, only couple of students from the front row exibit their work....then what about others..? we indian always talking about the IIT's and IIM so called whiz kidz..then what aboout others? out of lacs and lacs of students only couple of students out of IIT and IIM. there are so many students from other colleges they can't explore because of that proper guidance and mentorship. this IIT whiz will shine at any point in their life with/without this above project. But we should concentrete on other people who also do something, need some hope of light. I am not putting others down, just to concentrate on the otherside of the coin also. AFTERALL, IN THIS WORLD...IF YOU WILL SEE ALL THESE "A" PEOPLE IS SERVING THE "C" GRADED DROP-OUT PEOPLE WHO MAKES THE MONEY IN THE MARKET.....

Right, I couldnot clear JEE! At our times the syallbus for State edu board and Central/CBSE was quite different. Also IIt was strictly for English medium students!
But it doesnot dilute my point in anyway!Had there been actual real work by IItians, instead Showmanship, the story of Agri Based rural Bharat (not India) would have been quite different.

whats the point of your discussion, if you didn't do good then others don't have right to do it? next whats wrong with showmanship? what you are writing and evaluating the point here is due to showmanship of others (probably out of India), not yours... and last plz show how the show must go on... if you can't become a solution then don't become a problem yourself...
when you will be in, then you will better understand the cost of being an IITian...

I disagree. If IITians were indeed showmen, then they would have boasted of all the contributions made by them towards development. The fact that they have not tells everybody that they are humble. I advise a thorough research on your part to say that IITians have made no contribution to our society. you can start with the rural sector and then move on to the more advanced, our defense and then back again to the housewife and then move on to the disabled and differently able. That will show you what it is to be a showman and what it takes to be an IITian.

Getting into IIT could be the first step to success..
also agree, that people who have been denied form IIT might have been way far better than an IITian, fine.. I am only looking at the possitive part of it..

Hello Sir, I have developed a search algorithm , which if implemented in real time environment can prove to be as effective as any currently in use,but for that i need powerful nodes, can the people at IITs help me to test my idea, i have done MCA from a distance learning mode.....
this stuff impresses laymen and those living in fools paradise. truth is IIT as a institute fails miserably in converting excellent mind it receives into good engineers. instead it produces financial analysts who excell in maths. very few do go for PhD, but they are still not engineers. proof: 1) list the inventions by IITians? compare it with a good western school. 2) list the papers published in good journals like nature and science 3) list the no. of students who end up doing MBA or go to finance each year...

The indian IT industry may not have developed a new internet protocol per say or a search concept. But what is true they are at the forefront at making these technologies global and designing their service model. Indians are efficient when it comes to algorithms, processes and product development cycles. What they have achieved with global companies is a scalable streamlined process. What indian IT companies have achieved is creating jobs for millions of people. You have to try and understand that the demand is created from within. India is just awakening to mass IT technology. They are a number of brilliant startups toying around with crazy ideas in bangalore, pune and what not. Its the tech media which has not caught up with them. and maybe u shud get ur rss feeders updated. And the code monkeys, a nice term btw are well doing their job. But there are a thousands others with opensource projects working as contributors, team leads architects and delivering solutions to mega corporations around the world. When the indian IT infrastructure is overhauled u will see a major change in how the code monkeys view their job.
