A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She reduced altitude and spotted a man below. She descended a bit more and shouted, 'Excuse me sir, can you help me ? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago but I don't know where I am.'
The man below replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude.'
'You must be an IIT engineer,' said the lady balloonist.
'I am', replied the man. 'How did you know ?'
'Well, answered the balloonist, 'everything you told me is technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me at all. If anything you've delayed my trip even more.

Exactly..But its not technically infact theoritically correct...and and its practical its crap..Our Engineers think in 2D(two dimensional)..one is getting good percentage..and getting a good job.they dont think 3D way(which is research&innovation).and absolutely no use for the society for innovation..
What are achievements of IITians till date apart from needless hype ?
DRDO, ISRO,NAL, ADA,ADE many govt research orgzn, blue chip private companies, auto companies have roped in IITians for innovation, but no innovation can happen w/o foriegn help. Intel, GE, Texas Instrumentation RnD strength went down due to dilution of their staff by Indian IITians, Intel had some target of 6 chips in 3 years, but to produce one chip they took three years that too with lots of bugs, infuriated CEO sacked 300 employees on some other ground and moved strategic chip development center back to US. CEO openly criticised employees for lack of discipline and dedication. GE is loosing RnD edge again due to India center doing horribly slow in innovation, they sold of consumer division b'cos no innovation ideas came out of Indian development center. TVS and Bajaj produced some small innovation to theri small engines (by IITians) all are flops, 30 year old Japs Honda still rules !!! Can any one list some achievements of IITians ?

Frankly, IIT is not a research organisation at all. The bright BTech student are not interested in innovation and dull MTech student are no good for it.! So overall .. innovation suffers!

hmmm.. what do you know about innovations taking place inside Intel, GE, and "Texas Instrumentation"?
unless you have managed a product in these companies, i don't think you have any right to make sweeping statements like this on this forum.
By the way, its Texas Instruments, not Texas Instrumentation.

dear reesiff thank you for your try. please open it through search engine link
I think some of the concepts are really very exciting. Its greta work done by our own Indian students and we all must appreciate it. Lets not get into IIT vs non IIT stuff here. If something is good its good. We are very quick to appreciate International designs and infact use most of them in our own life whether they are mobile phones, cars or other gadgets. We must support our own designers.

Right!!Note that it is creative liberty , which IITians can only enjoy. If others try such things they will be dubbed as fool.
