I could see all the mock ups good for Transportation Design ........but for the other stuffs why it was made to a Funtional products? I dont see any reason for the Models to make it work with the Tech now available ????????????
It was really a great thing to hear all the comments based on our show. Really I switched off the stand up comedy show to read all the great comments put up by the GREAT AND HAPPENING INDIANS over us. To start off, there is surely a difference between an IITian and IDCian, and those talking about innovations, not fruitful research, senseless research... blah blah blah... Please just try to google out the projects done by IDCians down the line right from 1970's and also check out the scale of implementation that is done in our day to day life. Please also extend that effort to search out what sort of work all these IDCians are doing right now for making people like us to have a better and safe life. Still U wanna crib about not able to pass out JEE u r free to. Will surely enjoy ur comments on my comment too.

Dear Brother, it was really happiest news i am extreemly happy for you.....keep going brother to touch the beyond the limits of horizon.
I envy them not because I could not get into IITs. I have a biological sciences degree and I work in that area. I wish India has IIBS - Indian Institutes of Biological Sciences where students are screened and trained in various biology disciplines. India would produce First class biology scientists and show miracles in medicine. As a whole Indian brains are sharp and Indian govt. only promoting technology. I wish we also train young minds in biomedical fields. Good work by IITs and IITians. I am proud of them but I also envy them - in a positive way.

This is a very good thought and I suppport it. Availing world-class Medical education is tough in India.
Reccession There are no jobs for IIT people in india nowadays.Job losses pink slips no recruitments are the words of today.Donot know how the future would be.

Let's not demean anything which is of value to our society. If all of us did half of what was demonstrated through the article, we will be living in a better world. If there is nothing positive to contribute, why flame someone. Ignore the article - negative criticism is of no value.
And no, I did not study in the IITs, but am proud our country has such institutions.
All these discussions would have been otherwise had it been an innovation from a design school abroad. Then we would have people mentioning, look at them, nothing like this is done by people in India? Then you would curse the system of education here and blah blah blah. People, its time to realize that even though we may not be as advanced as Europe or Americas, we have our own strengths. Many of our IITian students are out there making a difference in any form. And these projects showcased here are by a design school. Have you thought of solar power or the atm's, or have you thought of the devnagri keyboard? all innovations from IITs. Or did you even think of the radar systems or a workstation for children with cerebral palsy. What about the stove for blind or the electronic communicator for people cerebral palsy? Developing systems for defense, or working with blind, or people who are not privileged! Normal people or people who can afford technology are not the only people living in the society. Move out from this mode that we copy, or we are not advanced. Even move out of the mode that IIT students believe only in big fat salaries. Just coz your not aware of these things does not mean they dont exist. India has advanced, but the mindset of many Indians has not. I can bet not one person writing here must have personally asked a question to these students as to how they have made a difference and how they contributed with their design. You simply jumped to conclusions.
