MOU
by Abdul Nooham on Jul 21, 2009 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

Let Gulf nations manage/run Air India. They do it better coz unlike europe there will be no unions, political interference, strikes, crew walk over etc. ONLY discipline & perfect management.
2nd Option - Air India can revive in hands of only Narayan Murthy - 1st step required is to stop sucking poor gulf workers since double distance travel to europe, asia pacific, Australia costless than Gulf.

Air India should be allowed to die.Arrogant and litargic staff has humiliated millons of passengers and enjoyed the luxury .They should be punished .
Parfull patel will be happy to see that as his master Jet airways has given this assignment.

ON AIR INDIA MESS
by S Mumbaikar on Jul 21, 2009 07:18 PM

If Satyam promoters could be taken to task by the Govt.it's hightime our Prime Minister realises that we make someone accountable for swindling the Public Exchequer and keeping on pouring money into AIR India so that the employees can enjoy productivity linked incentives even when the airlines makes lossess and the politicians keep ordering aircrafts.

destroy all govt agencies
by Nayak on Jul 21, 2009 07:18 PM  | Hide replies

Nothing can work as long as it is run by government. We don’t have sincerity to our duty and ethics. We feel responsible to our own immediate family.

I was watching the 40th anniversary of the travel to moon by Americans. How proud they were. The documentary was saying that the families of people who went to the moon had the lowest hope of them returning back to the earth. You can see the highest level of sincerity to yourself and also what you are assigned to do and that is mixed with the patriotism. They made it 40 years back.

We Hindus are not sincere to anything but our own family. That has made us hoard the money for several future generations. At least, pislamists are sincere to their belief so they have one unity no matter bad or good.

While you have mixed up too many things, I think I will have to give it to you on one aspect - that the nationalistic feelings in India is much less than what can be seen in other countries. This is because of the flawed policy of Unity in Diversity that we are hopelessly following for the last 60 odd years. Diversity can never bring unity especially if it is based on language. Nowhere in the world we can see people talking 15 languages and all of them claiming equal status. English can never be a unifying language since 50% of the people dont speak and 50% of the rest dont consider it worthy of speaking. With differences in culture, language and even basic outlook towards life existing in the different Indian states (sory, countries) we have lost the basic competitiveness of 1 billion people - leave alone the nationalistic feelings etc.

Nothing can help India progress as it should have, unless there is a strong unifying force throughout the country based on a common (single) business language that every Indian will agree to adopt and be willing to identify with. The situation should be such that a common man can freely be able to move and DO BUSINESS in other states just like people do in the US, Japan, Korea, China, Germany and all those developed nations.

Jai Hind!!!

Perhaps give Narendra Modi a chance, he will certainly make the airlines profitable. He is pragmetic and knows how to get things going. Praful Patel has been here for too long, perhaps needs to move on and give another person to change the situation.

If Laloo could do it once, I am sure he could do it agian, but ofcourse we should be prepared with the inflated profit figures also!

Who knows if this works, then we might find Mamta, Paswan and Nitish et all fighting for Airways just as they fight now for Railways! ;-D

One thing I want to add - inspite of his rustic ways and his incompetent misrule in Bihar, the man did a fine job at the railways depsite the inflated figures, and perhaps he has not been given his due credit for that!

The guy is right, we dont have sincerity to our duty and ethics, because we Indians in India would never sign a contract to work for a firm for 3 years. Indian teachers would never teach you everything they know, they always hold something back. Go to a white mans UNI. and they will teach you everything they know in their 40 years of work. The inian cons has 2 sides, one has no religion and the other has no shame. the white man has got it right a long time ago. just think about this. if i had money i would set up a factory in the persian gulf and get the Indians to work for me for 3 years, because i can take their PASSPORTS on arrival. think on!!!!!!!!!!!

AirIndia can survive
by Sourabh Toshniwal on Jul 21, 2009 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

It's very true that air-india in getting killed by some wrong decision makers. But there is always time. And things can be sorted out. In-fact like ONGC,Indian-oil etc Govt. should work on making Air-India a brand. When we go to Emirates, Spain, Holland every-where you find dedicated terminal for that country brand flights. If Air-India shuts then what is brand for Indian Aviation. So govt. should take measure like cutting extra staff, reduce retirement age to 50, Duty free sailing item with-in flight even Ethopian and kenya airways do that, better in-flight service, of-cource gentle treatment to passengers. One should feel if he/she flying Air-India means they flying some royal flight. With Indian meal they should keep specifc look on european and american typ food. Flight going to china, thailand, japan etc should have meal selection facility of that particular country. Most important Air-India tickets should have all class so that one can buy cheap tickets also if booking earlier. Same applies to Indian-airlines segment. So join hand to make Air-India brand not scrap. Flying Maharaja
