dear sir is that not amounting to wastage of more time and money? everyone is aware of the public sectors and their failures.it is accepted that psu's have the best manpower and infrastructure,but the missing rule is ACCOUNTABILITY from the top to the bottom and somebody should also explain how the revenue is used? and justification of infrastructure utilisation. where has the synergising of airindia and indian airlines gone?

what this batrsard papya patel was doing for all these five years...he is a bidi walah...by give him a portfolio worth cigar caused the downfall...
the worst airline i have travelled with.the crew was so rough that on airhostress comes and close the light and gos it is her duty to ask the passenger what does he/she wants no response to it.no doubht airindia is a natoinal carrier but it has to inprove the inflight crew.

I have been pretty happy with AI's on board staff, but their ground staff sucks ... they dont want to work at all.
This man Praful has ruined Air India. Ever since he took over as Min Of Civil Aviation, he has favoured Jet Airways and Kingfisher. OrdEred more Aircraft for obvious reasons.(Commission from Boeing).Changing MD's. (Four). Presently his stooge Mr. Jadhav is out to close the National Carrier. These two together will bring one time Maharajah of skies to ground and disintegrate for personal gains. Everyone is aware of the intentions of Mr. Sharad Pawar and his right hand man.

In India, for every action whether ligitimate or not, we start attributing political ulterior motives. How long the India and its taxpayers should take care of this airlines which makes just enough opearating revenues to pay only for salaries of its employees? Why should we all pay for the rest of the expenditures etc? What is the need to keep it alive?
Let the competition decide who should stay and who should not.
How things are going to pan out ultimately for the robeless Maharaja ? Govt. possibly is planning the Bail out package followed by handing it the over to the liquor baron.As things stand to-day it appears to be the easiest option.
indian airlines was merged with Air India to put in grave the misdeeds and corruption by the avaation ministry,officials & employees.All balance sheets were closed by corrupt auditors.But old practise of corruption is still operational today as all are same thieves.How mr.Prafull Patel will rescue a financially sinking ship.Same corruption,same staff,same work culture.only GOD can help.Private airlines by honest management are expanding but AIR INDIA is sinking.AIR INDIA Corruption,who cares?

Praful Patel has taken 22 crores for his election campaign(See to-days Hindu paper from Chennai)while our babus are ripping it off by free travel.The best option is give Air-India back to TATA and U dont need a outsider to manage it.No need to call GOD or Devil to save the air-liner. Sivaproactive

What if AI is not making money and is not self-sufficient after 2 years ?
Guys I have stressed this again and again.
The role and scope of government is so important. All we do here is fight over BJP Vs Cong.
But the most important debate ought to be the role of government.
As it is evident, government CANNOT run successful businesses.
Do we really want our tax money wasted in this fashion ?
AL will get the money they want, but there must be conditions set.
- The money is a loan at a set interest rate to be returned back to the treasury. - If AI is not "GREEN" in the next two years, AI will be liquidated - The new management will have the power and freedom to make deep cuts

AI trouble is a result of reservations and high fuel prices as well as free siphoning off by govt servants and politicians. Nobody wants to talk about reservations for fear of being labelled casteist.

In most of the successful, developed countries govts do not run flights, rail transport, surface transport, water and sewage services, fuel supplies, medical services, educational institutes and most of the civic services. They are all run by private companies and are taxed on these services and this tax is used in improving infrastructures, social security measures through cross subsidies.
India may still be very far off from such an ideal situation, but atleast such airlines should be privitised and save the taxpayers money from being paid to those most arrogant PSU employees in India.

Whats wrong if somebody atleast start trying something to bring back our national carrier into some respect? We the Indians only started feeling ashamed to fly in AI flights due to most uncertain, unreliable timings, hopeless quality food, poor quality of service etc. Even airhostesses are mostly aged 50 . We cant even call them daadis.

National Carrier is not defined in Constitution, when it is the only PSU operating as airlines/carrier, it can be aptly called National Carrier.
the head should start from Minister Patel, who is also responsible for the mess in AI, Even if it is divested who wants to pour money to sinking airliner?
