Bombay is screwed
by Guest on Jul 06, 2009 04:14 AM

Wake up Bombay. Your city is being raped by the so called "industrialists" of Bombay who only TAKE and don't GIVE back to the city. Case in point is the Ambanis building their grotesque, obscene concrete phallic symbol which they call a "home" as a testimony to their vulgar display of wealth. The nouveau riche in South Bombay have destroyed what used to be Bombay and made it a plastic city with people with no values. Its all show and very little substance. There is not a place you can go to Bombay anymore without having to deal with the pretentious nature of the new fangled wealthy who infest South Bombay these days like cockroaches.
Maybe the Sea Link is a good thing after all which will hopefully bridge the divide between the pretentious and the genuine, the nouveau riche and the educated/cultured Bombay-wallah, the frog in the well in S. Bombay and the World citizen of the burbs.

- an ex Bombay-ite who now resides in New York.

Bridge named after Rajiv Gandhi why
by rajiv mehta on Jul 03, 2009 11:36 AM

The bridge named as Rajiv Gandhi bridge. But why. What has Rajiv Gandhi done. His only identity is that he was son of Indira Gandhi and he managed to become PM because of his poltiical connection. The bridge is built in Mumbai and not Delhi. Sea link is the best name.

High Tolls to keep mumbaikers out of the bridge
by Indian Guru on Jul 02, 2009 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

This bridge was not constructed and intended for Mumbaikers and Maharashtrians.

Thats the reason the bridge is named as usual after RaGa with high toll tax and not to forget from the taxes, by the taxes of the taxes of maharashtrians .

by Muttaqi Ahmed on Jul 02, 2009 10:20 AM

Good Riddance to note that two wheelers are not allowed on the Sealink. Atleast here motorist can drive peacefully without the mosquitoes humming around them.

Great Achievement
by Friend on Jul 02, 2009 10:20 AM

I would suggest we should appreciate this achievement as it is one of the finest modern structures in India. Also, I am sure this would provide a great help to Mumbai' transportation in the bridge enclosing area. Instead of getting into nomenclature debate, let us congratulate to all who has provide us this beautiful and useful structure.
