Early Morning View from Sea Link
by Sameer on Jul 02, 2009 07:03 AM  | Hide replies

As you cross the sea link in the morning a sudden stink will fill your nostrils, from far you would wonder what bees are doing on the beach so early in the morning.
When you come nearer you would see hundred of people shiting on the shore.
Wow what a sight a gay persons delight

been there seen that
by Sanjeev Sen on Jul 02, 2009 07:01 AM

Nothing so great about the sea link. The structure is not impressive. The turns are too sharp. The exit at worli seadace is at 90 degrees to existing worli seaface road. The exit at worli will inherently have a trafiic jam. And caution to over speeding drivers. the exit bend at worli will surely take a lot of lives and property in its folds. On the whole, this link should have gone till marine drive. In between a link from Haji ali would have helped to avoid the proposed construction of Fly over at peddar road.

Gujus to blame
by Sameer on Jul 02, 2009 06:50 AM  | Hide replies

Gujus stop in middle of the sea link for photo shoot which causes traffic mayhem.
Congress has lied, bridge is only half open and its one year away when all 8 lanes would be open,

not worth...
by chindhee on Jul 02, 2009 06:27 AM

it is not worth buying a car...better to travel in taxi....better to pay 12rs min taxi fare for even a travel from churchgate to gateway rather than own a car of worth rs 500000 (loan repayment value - 7.5 lakhs), insurance premium per year as 15000 and the daily petrol cost...

Are we so pathetic?

Couldn't engineers figure out a better way to merge traffic after exiting from bridge? this is plain embrassing that it meets the road at 90 degrees!

Yes they could but they dont have to only think about motorist and wealthy, they had to think about poor fisherman as well. who are the first residents of mumbai.

Proud to say it only happens in India

So much Toll
by sameer agarwal on Jul 02, 2009 02:50 AM  | Hide replies

Every new road, bridge, is tolled. You pay almost 20% of the MRP of car as taxes when you buy it, every rupee you earn, you pay 33.99% as tax. India is surely one of the most taxed country.
Would you believe that aarey road is a toll road, it is a narrow road with potholes a galore. I am frustrated and hopeless

Buddy, you have to come to USA to know how much the people in US are taxed. Don't complain, you are better off in India. The investors who made this possible have pumped in millions of dollars, not for charity. They want their RoI's. That's how all this works. You want a facility, you pay for it.

how my tax rupees are used? i cant go to government hospitals for obvious reasons, i cant send my children to government hospitals, i can use the indian railways but that is profitable anyways, apparently government provide security by policing but that is not free either, yeah i can understand govt. spending on protecting indian borders through armed forces,
do u know what is the biggest expense of indian government, its not education, its not on military, it is the interest on the debt

Are you serious? Taxes in the US are much less compared to India. Even the toll is minimum, if any, on most of the interstates.

Make a comparison with their earning power.. even if they charge $4 for entire day parking (and that guy will be earning $5000) is equal to Rs 20 parking charge on road side, in India ( for a guy earning Rs 25,000.)
Moreover in India, you cannot have a peace of mind after paying the parking fees also.
