An unworthy step
by sameer surve on Aug 18, 2008 01:56 PM

It is sad that the honest taxpayers money is being taken for a ride. Government is not concerned about aam admi, only for its votes. But is not relaizing its folly now. By making reservations for OBC they thought they have gurateed votes. The karnataka elections taught them a good lesson, it seems defeat after defeat will not stop the govt from runing the country's hard earned money.

It is mostly private people who bribes the errant government staff to fulfil their objectives. The same people get productive work successfully from their staff members and then these staff members starts pointing fingers towards Govt staff.
Remember Giving bribe is also a form of corruption. Private is on forefront.

A sincere request to you, don't try to make these so called educated aware citizen of India, what Govt job is all about.
People here know nothing about govt machinery , they have zero civic sense , they are kids of small time dukandar (who obviously dont pat tax)
and only interaction they have with Govt servant, is that traffic police walla, who try challan them when they cross red light, or take wrong loan, whom they refuse to pay challan, first by saying they happene to know this and that and than by offereing bribe.
So Sunder Raj, let them live these educated live in dungeon, they dont know their nation, their system, their govt, all they do is watch movies and create impression, they are too dumb to understand , forgive and forget them

They do not pay honestly. THEY ARE MADE TO PAY. Go to any govt dept and one is really ashamed of the corruption which is at every corner. Very few govt servants are honest. all the users of govt officers cannot be wrong.

They pay income tax correctly, right. But they get salary for what? Torturing aam aadmi. The biggest burden on our nation is the corrupt non performing sarkari staff.

Good that you have raised salary for Govt employees after 10 years in the sixth pay commission.

I appreciate ur move and also need ur prudential move to overcome this extra budget so as not to increase the tax / Housing loan rate for Salaried in Mncs / Private Sectors....

Hope you know already all govt employees are provided with perks and allowances for quarters, petrol allowance , subsidary loans for Housing and subsidary loans for cars etc etc....,,,,,

I would like to keep u informed that the basic needs is same for everyone either a person is from PSU or Private/Mncs...

To keep one sector happier I hope u will not make other sector to suffer. If u have an idea of getting from salaried of private/Mncs to feed our govt employees please change ur mind....and take some wise decision%%%#$###$#$

Pay hike for Govt. staff.
by Kashi Gowlikar on Aug 18, 2008 01:48 PM  | Hide replies

The hike is ok but it should be linked to productivity and accountability. Their performance should be should be evaluated periodically and suitable action action should be taken. Govt should not hejitate to fire or retrain or demote them if the performance falls below the accepted norms. At the same time merit should be rewarded and encouraged. A lot of departments exist which do not have any relevant work or they are overstaffed. All the office work should be standardised, computarised and made transparent. Staff should be trained and retrained according to changing needs and requirements. There should be parity of pay between the public and private sector and staff can be encouraged to shift where ever required.

You are right when you are asking for a "performance evaluation" of public sectors. But its an irony that performance evaluation mechanism in the public sector has got corrupted. We need to work on some mechanism to make the performance evaluation transparent, fair and justified.

Reduce wages and raise output hours.
by niranjan inamdar on Aug 18, 2008 01:43 PM  | Hide replies

Sorry to hear raise in wages for doing nothing, simply coming and going,Thses 90 per cent employees are burden on general tax payers money,as they demand bribes, never complete job in stipulated time, and attitude of many is how to make stop work than execution,So unless public like Annasaheb hajare start some major campaign in Maharashtra,Nobody including politicians and Babus stop corruption,How all major politicians including Shiv sena,NCP,Congress and BJP made dustbinof campigns of Anna hajare who first made agitations for RTI act etc. These all Babus,Politicians are Bandguls-parasites insects prospering on humble middle class tax payers,Now to win next elections Congressparty made heavy concessions to organised sector people,to win votes,We know many Doctors and Engineers are paid Rs. 2000 per month at start of their careers if they able to find jobs,So this is so called democracy is made, run and executed for rich people, for benefit of rich organised sectors, people must stop thinking that this hizda is from my castes and make talented, elgioble persons their leaders in coming elections, many parties think certain castes are sure ro support them,So people should erase their mentality, otherwise thses politicians like p. Chindambaram throw away parties for themselves on humble tax payers like us.Anybody listening??????

I accepted 100 % that WAGE HIKE for Govt. Personnel is Waste and Criminal
Already these Govt. personnel take huge bribe without doing any constructive or useful work. This accumulation of Unaccounted Wealth is found and Highlighted by LOK AYUKTH. But unfortunately NO ACTION taken by the Government. Instead these Employees are encouraged by giving Wage Hike
One more dangerous thing is, that already Inflation is very much high and all the Commodity Prices had goneup to sky. Now this increase in Wages will add fuel to that and accelerate faster
The common people who are sincerely working in Non Governmental Institutions and who pays Tax ( WHICH is Wasted by Giving Wage Hikes ) are going to be the Max. sufferers

Am sure even GOD can not help us or INDIA

Mr K N,
Please dont ignore thousands and thousands of sincere, honest govt employees who work in various quarters of public sectors. I myself know many. What will be fate of those people?. Remember onething. Public sectors are connected to every single Indian. I maynot have connection with your private company.
I do accept that many indulge in bribery and they should be filtered out. Othetwise, your view of totally banning payhike is hugely uncalled for. Private sector is responsible for increase in real estate, property and other prices. These people too have to coexist with those who earn five digit salaries at the first go with frequent pay hikes. Do you want them to die of poverty?.

What if your’s salary is reduced by 20-30% on the ground of "non-performance" by your "Maliks" who you dubbed as VP or CEO or any other name and asked to sit extra 2 hours? How will you manage your family , specailly children's need and future?

You may change your job but remember all employees wheatr govt and private cannot do it simply.

So Please,Please........ Please before giving suggestion of salary reduction in think 100000000000 times… for humanity’s sake.

Bribe whether its taken by a private sector employee or the public sector employee, both are wrong. Both can be called corrupt and corruption is a sin, even in they eyes of God. If A takes money, B cant justify themselves if they takes money too, on top of salary allotted to them. How could you justify, if one stopped the work or delay the smooth proceedings of work just to grab hard earned money of a poor citizen. n this is what happening in almost all the public sectors. They behave like they are the king and they will never be fired. Govt. Employee should also be evaluated based on their productivity and gets termination if they found guilty of underperforming their duties intentionally.

Pvt sector employees do not have luxury of having second jobg ( read "tutions" ) , nor is bunking allowed .Also , the number of leaves permitted is one fourth of that of a lecturer. What Govt servants want is a fat salary with lots of holidays & no work to do .Correct ?
