I guess the suggestion of the IAS officers to get higher pay is right, but at the same time they should be taken away with the privileges that they receive from the governemtn, I guess, this would be a better deal even for the government instead of wasting huge sum of money providing them all the facilites, which cost way higher than the salary that they would be getting as per market rates, and these services are mostly misused by their relatives and friends and the cost is always on the citizens of India.
what is there in govt job? u will not have any recognition for work. no career.all horses, donkeys are equal.dirty promotion system. those who cannot compete with u and join private sector flourish.for the peanuts they pay, every idiot barks on u just like peronal servant. every political chancha commands u. see when ever ruling party changes how they kick babus.So dear children join any MNC and big industrial houses and enjoy life. Dont join govt jobs. Every idiot think he is boss to a govt servant

It seems you a person with SELF Respect and values. But today you find a lot of guys who want to be IAS to secure a place in the world of currouption and to lick 3rd grade Tihar Jail Returned Polititians shoes.

Dear Mr Ashok: Fact is that only people who whine about LIFE join Govt Service and become a Hbl(can be Honorable or Horrible) "File Pusher". These people compare themselves with private sector only when they retire.... WITH a peanut pension. But, during their service years none of them wish anything else other than "GOVT service" with all POWERS and Salaams..... The Pay commisssion should simplify the perks in real vlaue terms and fix the salary..... They should have no " freebies "....and everything they get should be converted into Rupee value and even be taxed That is why a Govt career ONLY POLISHES THE PEBBLES BUT DIMS THE DIAMONDS I may sound controversial....but these days the children belonging to Forward community (brahmins) DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT IAS ENTRANCE EXAM
Why not make all the district level officer like District collector, Sipdt. of Police, DAgricultural Officer, Divisional Railway manager, Divl. Post office Supdt., Income tax Officer etc. and their senior at state level and at central level a political appointment like cabinet appointment. Already the politicians are interfering with most of them without responsiblity. This should make them responsible and accountable also.
Pl. take a sample survey among the offficer whether he would like to get 2.5 lakhs in cash instead of the occupying the quarter whose rental value is Rs. 5,00,000. 99% of them would surrnder such quarter next day and accenpt the 50% of the market value .
The govt. can save considerable amount this way.
The residence of governors and the president will be valued at several crores for rental value.
