I know more then 100 SC / ST family whose yearly income more then 5 lakh. Their family member chances to Medical / Engineering/other competitive education due to reservation though they are very poor RANK in the Exam. In future a dull minded person make a Doctor / engineer/ etc. then how India will develop.... think about this...

Govt must start with Reservation only for BA, BSc,BCom etc & not in Engg,Medicine & PG AND only at the LDC level. Why anyone has to be directly IAS,IPS without quality? It is because of Reservation such things are happening. 3rd Class Reserved person can become IAS,IPS,IRS,MBBS etc without any quality & mint money in our corrupt system. Once selected, no need to work or think. Once IAS,IPS etc, from Reserved Class, their generations can easily become IAS, IPS etc. without any quality. Apart from discontinuing Reserverations, there should be no time bound promotions (for those already in jobs in Govt) for this class, ahead of any of their superiors. We can work for SC,ST etc. but is it necessary that they must start as IAS,IPS etc. without quality. Reservations must be phased out within 10 yrs, starting with Reservations only at the lowest level & also not in Professional/PG Courses & beyond.
Quality of a country depends on the quality of people who are driving it. We can put somebody on the driving seat with less than 100% with the aid of reservation. Ultimately the mission will suffer. This is what going on in every sectors of government department and hence the situation today.

It is unfortunate to read the article by a person particularly from Tamilnadu proposing for abolition of reservation, which is continuing for a quite long time for upliftment of socially suppressed class. Let him study the Mandal Commission report
Any past wrong doing based on caste will be offset if income based reservation is adapted. Inaddition, economically weak will get boosted..Right on target Sir...But who is to do this..Modi is the only answer...

1. Man made Caste system and reservation system must be eradicated from our society. It is a cancer of our society . It is very difficult to abolished this system because our politician, religious leader and other intellectual person will opposed it because their vote bank and importance would be lessen. Everybody knows caste and religion are man made and this classification are not scientific . Only economic reservation is needed and if our society does not ready to accept this we may divide our society further . Rather seat reserved for SC/ST/OBC we have to reserved seat for Brahmin or economically sound people or we may give reservation all as per percentage of population in each section as per census 2011. In India 10% of population enjoys 90% of share where 90% of population shares only 10% of our economy. Why reservation are not imposed in here to make equality?. If we are really want to do better for our society and country immediately stop caste system and reservation system in all spheres of our lives. Only merit is the criteria for selection in job and admission. In temple,mosqe priest would be appointed on the basis of quality not caste based.
It is time to discontinue the practice of providing reservation and facilities to minority class since there are more poor people who are struggling for one time meal in the majority classes. Therefore, it is time to think provide reservation on the basis of income of an individual.
Relook required for reservations. Congress wanted to divide and rule so they continued with the policy.... why kin of Minister/ Civil Servant etc will get reservation in colleges ?
Dear writer, I think you have expressed your view point on basis of assessment you gathered information in metro cities and other places where people have got some space due reservation. The basic principle of Reservation is Social as well as Economical equality not only economically where as you have totally focused on economical ground . A clerk from upper caste community get a High social status than a officer from SC,ST OBC community gets being a Class one Officer either in Govt of India or State Govt Services due social inequality not due economical reason. Dear friend study the gross root social/caste based problem not only the a little benfits this reserved community had got through reservation. This is based on population basis. I suggest Govt to give the reservation population wise percentage. Upper caste are around 15 percent. Give 15% reservation to upper caste and left all 85% for Reserved category.

HZow can one person be expected to work with full integrity for a service thhat is not achieved with a full honesty practice of compete relative to others MERITIOUS ABLE HIGH CALLIBRE person that is the whoole problem CORRUPTION which is the only major by product of RESERVATION. BAN RESERVATION FROM EDUCATION FROM JOBS FROM POLITICS, so that no politician can play with merit when it comes about the intelleact work force that strives for the well being of india

The reservation does not address the point you raised ... "respect".
Even meticulous lower caste strata are looked down because there is a feeling that they must have got the position due to reservations.
Zero reservations with easy student loans and access to quality education is the only way to create a just society and competitive country.
