its time for reservation based on caste to go. Enough is Enough. Its true that ST and SC people are also talented and they deserve to come up based on their talent and their contribution to the society but giving reservation to undeserving people will only harm the country in long run as it has already caused too much of brain drain from india which subsequently results in india lagging behind other countries. Reservation should only be based on income as some ST/SC people are earning in crores as compared to general category people. Reservation based on caste has only divided the country. It can never unite any country.

I recommend there should not be any reservation on whatever parameter. Govt should concentrate on primary education and strengthen the higher education or vocational education. this has potential to solve problems for long term...
withdraw reservations for higher posts. limit reservation for two promotions. Income bracket if crossing beyond a certain limit or if the ward is studying in any posh school then he will be regarded as unfit for reservation.
Money making or money spinning is the call of the day. Any degree or even kindergarten schools are fleecing money. why should one pay admission fee amounting to thousands or even lakhs for a primary education. Is this not a crime that deprives people of education because he has less money. Primary education has to be made compulsory and affordable to make The citizens of India better educated rather than show off that my ward is studying in such a school. The Vice Chancellor has done a great job by opening up this debate
Very sensible and balanced suggestion. It needs wide support. Rediff can conduct a countrywide poll and then present it to the political parties for a solution. I do understand that once you give a concession to any segment, even if you say it is for a fixed period, people get so much used to such concession that they would not like to part with it. They would like such concession to continue eternally. Anyhow it is worth a try.
income based reservation must be introduced. those who are in higher positions of govt offices must voluntarily give up reservation to pave way for others. there cannot be injustice for some one because one belongs to a forward caste. Thousands of forward caste students are being deprived of their rightful claim for higher education.
