There may have been incorrect use of the word cousin but the correct use has destroyed the bond in Indian society. In my childhood days we did not make distinction between a sagaa bahi and 'cousin' brother and it was so sweet.
There may, perhapes,be a real brother or false brother. Ther is a own brother but not rented one no boubt. These are perceptions, first of all let us understand the language, my Dear!
Initially, when ATM was introduced, they called it all-time-money - if I call the machine 'all-time-money machine' i.e. ATM Machine, would it be a mistake?

No. But it is a mere coincidence that the purpose is manifest in a convenient recasting of the expansion: Any-Time-Money / All-Time-Money machine. In that case KGP should expand like "Kremlin-er Goyenda Bivag" and "VIP" should stand for "Very Insignificant Person,..., so on & so forth, "WIFE" for "Wonderful Instrument For Enjoyment". Perhaps ATM signifies Asynchronous Transfer Mode in a parlance of Communication Engineering.
Xerox is the name of company which manufactured photocopy machine, we have habit of referring photo copy as Xerox copy which is wrong, even many of the photocopy shops they mentioned as XEROX.

Even then it is wrong! Saying brother implies "own" and "real". When you have to refer to someone else's brother, then you say "Ramesh's brother" etc.
They often say " they says" similarly "one of the persons" is often wrongly used as " one of the person" ! Best part was that in his speech he made no qualms in referring to INDIAN youth... did not mince his words while portraying which country he is looking upto to change the world.. Kudos..!
Agreed all points except 6. You can't continue the sentence if situation does not demand. "Cousin" is very vague and always needs further clarification. So I would rather prefer the so called "indianism" style of "real" while pronouncing my relativity with the person.
