I rememeber reading, somewhere the discussion/debate was held about Wht if..Wht if Dhirubhai Ambani was MBA..?? and after hours of debate theycame to conclusion that He might have retired as CEO of some company...Couldnt hv built the empire...higher education in India is joke...Not just MBA, but Phds too...Those so called guides/profs just exploit students while running their own consulting businesses etc...Or else sometimes if u know the guide beforehand its easy for u to be phd...education at its worst..

B-Schools & " Clerks "
by Edison John on Feb 27, 2012 07:09 PM  | Hide replies

N. Ram Kumar's institution " ICICI Bank " is making the highest profits among Nationalised and Private Sector Banks in India. Also look at the Share price of ICICI Bank in your newspaper. I wonder how N Ram Kumar is managing so high volume of profits with his B-School " Clerks " ???

Member of Bekar Association (MBA)
by Dude on Feb 27, 2012 06:23 PM

They have changed the image of any graduate wearing balck gown and black graduate cape. Job applications previously written by hand and posted by indian mail not by email.

Shirt without crease and spotted considered as rejection from interview and everything used to in british style.

But ur pathetic qualities will be considered as ur merits. Such as how many bro and sis ur have lined up for merriage, what kind of business ur father does and how much bad u r in language etc....how much procratinate work in order to gain time advantage ???

Common sense is enough
by ashok kumar on Feb 27, 2012 05:49 PM

To be a successful businessman one need not be an MBA. Even a person with basic common sense can be a great entrepruner. One fine example is that of the founder of Sarvana stores chain in Chennai. He has entered in many segments of business very successfully. He was not even a graduate and could not speak any other language except his native place Tamil.

Ethics
by Zeng on Feb 27, 2012 05:38 PM

Ethics surely can't be taught at this age, but surely there need to be a reminder. In countries like India, people talk about religion, but hardly on ethics. At a time when corruption has become a way of life, it would not be bad if young MBAs are told that there is something called coporate ethics. Obviously you don't expect all frauds to stop that easily, but I am sure it is a small step in the right direction. 90% of what they teach at MBA is never goign to be used anyway!

And English, I don't understand how a corporate leader would communicate of he doesn't know the official language in which the business is being done. It is all about communication and haveing a reasonable knowledge about the language in which you communicate.
