The writer is absolutely right. But it is not only applicable to MBA, the truth applicable to all other conventional streams as well. The problem lies not only in the system, but also in our thinking process and tradition. Long time back while I used to study in England, I used to find we Indians were at the top. But after ten years those toppers, I found, no where near to back benchers brits. We mug the books to be certified. But learn hardly anything. With cert without knowledge we can be clerk, not good managers

Dear Business People,
by Adv. Sreekumar, Tripunithura.

Can any one tell, which B School produced JRD Tata, Dirubhai Ambani, Bill Gates and the Great business people like them. It is only sheer hard work, commitment and ability to overcome the odds. There are thousands of graduates, engineers & professionals heading many organisations - functions . How many of them are from any B Schools? OR, Howmany B School products have become sucessful Business personalities!! OR how many of the Faculty at B Schools are from B School culture? Any professional Training Institution will produce talents. Factors affecting their career will make / unmake a professional and the factors will vary from industry to industry, time to time and place to place. Modernisation in the Education System has helped the aspirants to get more exposed and informed about the scope of their respective field. Like other professional institutions B School also produce talents. Help them to grow in their respactive field.
A CEO who knows the clerical work will know the intricasies of the work and can take decisions faster. Otherwise it will be like political heads controlling the executive cadre. PUT A CHILD IN THE WATER, IT HAS TO MOVE THE LIMBS, BE CAREFUL, CHILD SHOULD NOT BE DROWNED.

Nation of clerks
by Mahadev Mohan on Feb 27, 2012 11:53 AM

Lord Macaulay didnt go wrong long ago when he emphatically remarked that a well laid out Imperialist education policy would raise generations of clerks for the advanced countries. We are never able to come out of the box.

by Golan on Feb 27, 2012 11:43 AM  | Hide replies

WHAT IS MORE SHAMEFUL IS THEY ARE TREATED WORSE THAN CLERKS IN AUSTRALIA AND UK. PEOPLE SHOULD COME OUT OF THE MANIA OD BUSINESS SCHOOLS AND ENGINEERING (?) COLLEGES. FOR JOBS ANY DEGREE OR PG WITH SOME WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTERS WILL DO. THE REST HAS TO BE LEARNT AND IMPROVED ON ONES OWN ABILITY SHINE AND SHOW. Golan

All the passed out are book worms. No kniowledge of any feild but yet talk in every field. Its like mandira bedi discussing cricket without even knowing how to hold a bat.

A marwadi imparts better business tactics than B schools do. What B schools teach is mere common sense.

Quality of B School
by swapan bhattacharya on Feb 27, 2012 11:28 AM  | Hide replies

It is true that the quality of MBAs are not that good as are expected. Lots of institution has come up with political leader's banner and are having good placement opportunity without seeing the need of this hour.

Why it took 20 years of stakeholdership with B schools to say this about them?

Will you please publish your profile in brief on these columns?

If not B Schools, then what? Any solutions please?
