There are certain things like Patience, Entrepreneurship, honesty, dignity; if they can be taught in schools, world would have been a much better place? It is very easy to blame/ criticize. Even if we bring the cheese to the mouth of the rat, its the rat who has to open the mouth to chew.
B-Schools provide you with the facilitation tools to either start your venture or assist in development of others? What\'s the wrong here? Its upto the individual to embrace whichever field he wishes to, based upon his /her Risk taking quotient? Do not forget that Entrepreneurs also need good managers to fuel further growth. Lets stop criticizing the present setup of institutions, instead find ways to make it more meaningful.
to blame a system. But after reading the article I didn't find any solution or corrective measure suggested by the writer.Better come forward with alternative solutions also. Otherwise it is useless to find fault with existing set up.

Alternative solution is not difficult. The reason why MBA schools produce clerks lies in the lack of understanding within its teachers/professors of how a typical day is spent in real business world. This problem however is not limited only to MBA schools but to all education institutions in India. The easiest solution is to make it mandatory for every teacher / professor / lecturer to undergo an evaluation syetem every year. Design of the evaluation program will determine the success.
Have you all seen the new vodafone ad with a small girl and boy saying 'instant connection'??? Instant connection? my foot. Such a bad advertisement targetting even kids of 10-12 age group. It was so embarrasing to watch it along with my kid who is 12. When media which is so powerful can be so irresponsbile who will manage the confused kids and helpless parents?
For almost two decades I have been chiding business schools as colonial cousins who run the diktats of multinational companies. These youngsters who otherwise could have been GOOD R&D engineers&scientists producing may be MAGLEV trains or working on advanced storage systems for our villagers to store their produce etc.It is time we as a nation must revisit the education of our talent pool of this nation into appropriate areas and kick the multinationals out of this universe.
the writer himself is a CEO of ICICI, what did he do in his organisation to change this trend. His HR still looks for qualifications like MBA/Degree and not really test the skills. Its nice to make trendy comments but charity begins at home

Guess the message was for the B-Schools to begin charity at home first. The reason why MBA schools produce clerks lies in the lack of understanding within its teachers/professors of how a typical day is spent in real business world. degree but are doing well. The SMB business requires experience and network of supplier, dealers and customers, which comes with being in business and not from a MBA.
Definitely acedemic education add value, it takes you to certain basic level success, I beleive beyond that basic level of success, theory of randomness operates, further success is purely random.....

shoot the thought not the thinker. Ask what he has said is correct or not, rather than question his qualification like a politician.
