No Doctor to go out Without Five Years in India
by Nalin Kishore on Apr 28, 2012 06:22 PM  | Hide replies

There is tremendous shortage of doctors in India. Only those doctors should be allowed to go who have never studied in govt aided schools, colleges and medical colleges. If someone has studied at the cost of taxpayer he should NOT be allowed to go abroad for five years at least.

Why just doctors are targetted. Any abuse/misuse of tax payers fund should be heavily scrutinised. We all know that the number 1 looter of tax payers fund is politician themselves. Have you ever looked into the working conditions in a government hospital? Even a experience clerk is more powerful then doctors.

'Asking Indian docs to return after higher studies unfair'
by Ajit Birdi on Apr 28, 2012 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

Why should they return, State did not fund their training they did it under their own stem.
Yes if it was funded by the state as it is in UK, then the state can demand their return otherwise NO.
In UK the state funds the training and a qualified doctor is not allowed to go and work else where for 5 years.

Already mention that preparing each doctor Government is spending Rs.25 Lakhs and again asking why. It is very fair decision taken by the Government.

have you ever thought that the porkitician is lying ? Have you ever thought that the govt may allocate 25 lakhs per doctor, but 90% of it goes to the porkiticians kitty ?

Or have you lost the ability to think altogether ?

How much do you think the lecturers are being paid ? I can tell you that its not more than 50-60,000 per month on average. Check UGC for more salary related details.

For you to understand all this, you need to have attended a professional college.

Also, the main reason for this is because this kangress sc....ummm realized that there are not enough qualified doctors graduating in the country. Instead of addressing that this scu...mmm is trying to cover his low life p..olicy.

Why is there a shortage of qualified doctors ? Surely when over 50000 seats are available in medical colleges, we shouldn't face this scene right ?

If this sc...umbag wants to do something, he should get rid of qu0ta system in medical science. Almost 60% of the seats go to the qu0ta folks who don't have the talent or the desire to do well. They got their seats handed in a silver plate. And they will continue to reap this once they graduate, so why work ?

OK guys, I miss understood the article, Yes if the government is funding their training then not only doctors but any one whose education is funded by the government should return.
government is spending money for the benefit of India, These doctors should spend at the minimum a period of 5 years working in government hospital.
Not a private one.
Otherwise their training should not be funding.

every mbbs passed out candidate knows how tough the entry into the post graduation have been there...and condition had been made still worse by the quota/reservation policy. UG:PG seats ratio is very very high....and after all that if somebody tries to get PG in USA/UK government have objection for that.its not fair.if sombody wants to settle abroad after PG its his personal choice.way this is by force.already after MBBS there is 1 year compulsary rural internship bond and that to in area where there r no basic facilities(water, electricity etc) poor sanitation etc etc.

simple solution
by ar on Apr 28, 2012 01:13 PM

It is simple. Those who use government funds to study can me made to do social service in india. Those who pay from their pockets to study should be free to practice anywhere.

Total medical schools in country - more than 200
Graduating doctors bare minimum 200000 per year
postgraduate seats per year- at maximum all seats put together 20-30,000
dont talk about improving basic medical conditions even after ruling most part of 65 years post independence.
Blame 3000 doctors leaving country for all the misdeeds - typical playing for gallery

Students of Govt colleges must return
by Manoj Dev on Apr 27, 2012 12:16 PM  | Hide replies

Agree with the Minister - but the rule should apply to those MBBS who are graduating from Govt / aided medical colleges.

Reasons:
1. The Govt./s bear 80-90% of the costs behind medical graduates from govt. colleges - public money. So, they must give it back to the country through service.
2. Students going abroad to study borrow the required money from public sector banks - support of public money (Private banks mostly do not give study loans.)
3. Medical studies require comprehensive hospital / application work; so students gain practical experience too during PG studies.
4. In any case, the PGs command huge fees from patients, which practice is effectively anti-social or anti-society, in a poor country like ours. But they very well recover their PG study costs.

Let me ask the centre governed IIMs then.As all know, an MBA seat in IIM costs no less than 15 lacs now.Do u really think that MBA seat is worth that much.?If it is worth that much why the fees in IIM was below 5 lacs some 4 years back? Has the quality of education & infrastructure increased in IIMA? Definitely not. These politicians governed institutions suck the blood and money of common people and try to pseudo run the show by saying that these institutions are heavily subsidized. Actually the tax payer’s money are swindled by corrupt politicians by way of 2G/3G/10G scams. These politicians are fooling common people & the already financially burdened, education empathized Indian middle class families by imposing these kinds of education rules. These corrupt politicians are the real culprits and looters of the nation and are trying to disguise themselves as clean citizens of this country.Look at ghulam azad’s house and a normal doctor’s house to know the real truth.

So 3000 doctors going to us a year which btw includes the ones that aren't paying susbsidized education is a problem ? how will 3000 more doctors solve the problem ?

Out of lakhs of doctors graduating every year, the focus is on 3000 ?

Don't you want to think why this is the case ?
