Also check names like Ajit Bhat (inventor of USB devices) and Pranav Mistry (inventor of Sixth Sense) who are NON-IITians!!!
What makes you think IITians have a biggerDick than NON-IITians??!!
And lets put it a step further: Check out the number of Jewish inventors (staying in Israel and NOT in US!!!) compared to Indian inventors (include even those staying in US)!!!

Hi -
Sohrab is not abusing IITians. They have done very well in the US and elsewhere, but too much hype has also been created stating that IITians are the best, which may not always be the case.

Dr Jitendra Kumar mullik works on artificial intellegence which is frontier of technology. He is renowned in US..One day you may hear his name as noble Prize nominated or winner
What Jairam Ramesh has said is by and large true. IITs are known for their students and not for their teachers. With all due respect to our teachers, as an ex-IITian, I beg to say that only few teachers qualify to teach at IIT. My personal experience is that the faculty recruitment process is not as rigorous as the students entrance examinations are. As a result mediocre faculties are recruited and the quality of innovation and research simply stumble.
The question is not about Indian invention or not but about IITians who are squeezing the tax payers money and running away abroad and still not doing anything worthwhile compared to NON-IITians!!
There is no doubt that IIT graduates are cream of the cream and they have proved it in every wakes of life. But the Question is Why any Talented people will work as teaching faculty?

Being a product of IIT/IIM myself I would say their faculty are like the proverbial curate's egg - good in parts. While there are good profs by and large what Mr Ramesh says is true. The IIT/IIM product is good because of the interactions that a group of sharp hardworking and ambitious people have with each other.
After all he is an antinational Congressman.he is a slave of the dynasty. He is just trying pave way for reservation for their fav so called minority community to get reservation in IIT faculty.
If IIT & IIM is not internationasl std. then how come these alumni are working overseas in International ogn. and what is the standard of other institutes' teachers. Jairam isu just a corrupt politicians and nothing else. So whatever he said is not important but an insult to our teachers. He should be dumped into the sea. And you should be writing a book on Jairam and try to sell it into international market- no one would buy it..

Mr. Vimal Singh - With no intention to insult anybody, let me give you an example from lot of my interactions with many IITans & IIMians, btw, I'm not arguing this since I haven't passed from these universities: One of Top5 students of IIMC batch (Finance Speciality) mentioned to me that his practical knowledge about daily use of Finance in an IB is very minimal, compared to my knowledge - I passed Master of Applied Finance from an reputed Australian University where our teachers were 15-20 years practioners (Traders, Product Control, Hedge Fund Mngrs, Privite Equity guys, Accountants, etc.) and Reseachers. So, you see that it's important to learn whatever is applied from Practioners & Reseachers rather than Theory Masters. Thanks !

Even NON-IITians and NON-IIMians are working in international organizations with very good reputation. Most of the Indian inventors are NON-IITians (except for Vinod Khosla) and NOT IITians!!!
History has proven that IITians are no better than NON-IITians!!! So, why should the tax payers money go to the grants of these IITian dimwits which the NON-IITians dont get and yet perform better??!!
Top position in INTEL,Belllabs,AT&T,NASA are held by IITians...
20 % in microsoft(US) are Indians mostly IITians
Top innovators among Indians in silicon valley are IITians and are advisers list president of USA
Top IITians are professors in MIT,Caltech,Cornel,Stanford, Harwrd... real research takes place in USA where they spend billions of $....In India billions are spent on scams by Raja,Pawar, hasan Ali,Balwa..that is where our pigshit is going...very small money for research in IIT..That is why no research in IIT.. IITians are world class so long there wer 5 IITs.
