Fact

As always, media tries to add masa1a to sell the news. The question is NOT whether "all" crimes against women could be related to the dress worn by women. The question is how can we reduce the crimes against women. There are n number of reasons for these crimes, bad guys being one of them. No amount of strictness of laws and enforcement by Police can completely remove these crimes. Hence you can see these crimes even in countries with strictest laws, such as Saudi Arabia. However, the fact of the matter is that when you draw less attention towards yourself, you are "relatively" less exposed to crimes. Remember that we do not live in an ideal world where all men walk on the roads without looking at women. Even that 1 percent of bad guys makes a huge number. Hence, the so-called confident and modern women cannot say that they can wear anything and the men should not look at them. For that matter, even a man cannot go on solitary road with golden chains and watch, and say that the thieves should control themselves. To those who say that dress of woman doesn't matter, please answer this. Why do marketing folks (men and women) use skimpily dressed women to market their products, ranging from deodrants to bikes to cars? I could have written the answer here, but I want others to think.

Slutwalk was a failure

Whoever sponsored this, save your last few dollars for improving your own country. Indian culture will exist through the good men here for eternity, even if we are having bad times now. For you its - "Vinashakaale vipareetha buddhi" You guys are going to suffer for your wrongdoings as President Obama may end your indirect rule by introducing REAL US dollars.

Pinch a child and expect him not to cry !!

What is the to dress provocatively?? Me and women alike can be decently dressed.
If a person cannot take responsibility for the way they dress why expect another to take responsibility for the way they react?
This is like pinching a child and expecting him not to cry !!

Gr8 Move but wont help to change mindset

Just copying the west and doing something that they are doing wont help us here. I do think that issues like killing of a girl child after birth are more critical than some girls changing the mindset of people who are already matured to understand them.

useless but unfortunately extremely dangerous trend

It is high time that sane people in our country started looking more closely at this blind import of idiotic ideas from the west.
What these so-called fighters for women's liberation are asking for can be understood only if you imagine this scenario:

You are a male, you are surrounded by numerous scantily clad, partially nude (or maybe in near future even fully nude) women. And you are expected to remain indifferent, else you go to jail.

I cannot even begin to explain how very stupid that sounds. It insults my intelligence to think that I am living in India at a time when such people also exist, and not only exist but wield enormous clout and decide what is good and what is not. It is utterly shameful for us that we have to stand this onslaught of dangerous imports which can in very near future transform this country into a total hell (I must admit it is already beginning to resemble some sort of hell in many areas, but as long as I have a sound mind I wouldn't like the trend to continue).

I for one don't go around in underwear, knowing how ridiculous that would be. If women's groups think that the public space has been hogged by males then they should remember that when I claim that I don't go around naked, it means that I am using my rights with responsibility.
And responsibility towards whom? Am I contributing to society by not going nude? NO. I am doing it for my own good. That is unspoken responsibility given to me by the society, I understand. kindly do th
