Just common sense!
by ContraView on Jun 19, 2011 10:54 PM  | Hide replies

Dont do too much Phd research on this subject. It is a fact that educated/ uneducated men's behaviour changes when he sees something "abnormal" - a.k.a. a Provocative dress.

What do these 'NDTV girls' want to achieve by throwing commonsense to the dustbins?

Please dont blame me..i am trying to tell u just a simple commonsensical point to protect ur self.

Media, please dont mislead people at large by assuming you are a Thought Leader for all of them.

I tell you what the chances are. From personal experience I can say that I control myself very well but if some girl is showing off the body deliberately I would at least think that she doesn't want me to behave in the usual way. And then there are some people who go the entire way and even act on that thought. You decide who/what to blame.

nothing wrong in hoping that she wants you to behave in certain way but rather than assuming it for sure.. go and skillfully check with her and if she says no.. just turn around.. and go your way instead of assuming that now it is ok to rape her cuz she asked for it

its personal judgement what is provocative so keep it to yourself
by Nihit Saxena on Jun 19, 2011 06:58 PM  | Hide replies

For some people even a leg out of burqa may be provocative and for others even completely nude woman may be normal.
rule of thumb is men have to control themself and a no means no even if woman is naked..

Maybe you are right, but when you consider the ground realities you will find that those people you mention who will be indifferent to even a completely nude woman will most likely be found in the west. You can't expect people to become all of a sudden. Forget about all of a sudden, you can't expect them to become western ever, it is their own choice. If you are uncomfortable, kindly consider moving to America. You can choose to stay and keep protesting, but that will be your loss.

seems like sheeps in herd, publicity stunt for these girls...this will change nothing...Rapist have sick mentality, but dressing do invite eve teasing at times. You cannot expect uneducated ppl to respect you, do you expect a servant at a dhaba to know what is mini skirt unlike an office guy, be practical. Also first woman should work as equal to men and stop demanding things to be respected, i personally respect independent women, but how many are there in India? hardly 5%. If it gives for rape it also goes for mugging, your security is in your own hand. Why are there no stats for NY mugging in the world by media, cuz its not a minority issue. Crap, i am sure most men would gather for eye feast, also i wonder how many women show up in actual!

by THANGAVELU on Jun 19, 2011 10:21 AM

It is biological and/or behavioural dis-order of menfolk. In India, it is more problem because of colour of skin. What is desirable and what is feasible ? I do not know howmany is qualified to talk .. men or women ?
