useless but unfortunately extremely dangerous trend
by nisheeth81@rediffmail.com on Jun 21, 2011 11:51 PM

It is high time that sane people in our country started looking more closely at this blind import of idiotic ideas from the west.
What these so-called fighters for women's liberation are asking for can be understood only if you imagine this scenario:

You are a male, you are surrounded by numerous scantily clad, partially nude (or maybe in near future even fully nude) women. And you are expected to remain indifferent, else you go to jail.

I cannot even begin to explain how very stupid that sounds. It insults my intelligence to think that I am living in India at a time when such people also exist, and not only exist but wield enormous clout and decide what is good and what is not. It is utterly shameful for us that we have to stand this onslaught of dangerous imports which can in very near future transform this country into a total hell (I must admit it is already beginning to resemble some sort of hell in many areas, but as long as I have a sound mind I wouldn't like the trend to continue).

I for one don't go around in underwear, knowing how ridiculous that would be. If women's groups think that the public space has been hogged by males then they should remember that when I claim that I don't go around naked, it means that I am using my rights with responsibility.
And responsibility towards whom? Am I contributing to society by not going nude? NO. I am doing it for my own good. That is unspoken responsibility given to me by the society, I understand. kindly do the sam

Way to go!

This is a good message - we are a nation of hypocrites - expecting girls to be covered up while salivating at the nonsense bollywood throws around in the name of entertainment - item songs, my foot! How do you expect a country bumpkin to react on seeing a girl in t-shirt/jeans? Exactly the way his filmi star would - pull her arm and molest her until she falls in his arms...

Before all you macho jokers start jumping up and down, I live in China and swear to god, I see girls dress the way they like and they walk around at 3am without worrying about randy men chasing them.

You know, there are lots of more worthy freedoms with which our country makes up for that. Such freedoms don't exist in China, but are far more valuable than freedom to arouse.

I respect women.... but....
by jyoti kumar on Jun 21, 2011 09:46 AM  | Hide replies

I like a women to be respected and given respect. The way you behave depends upon how you show up. A women is respected by the way how she dresses, follow culture and respects elders. If she dresses and provacates, naturally a man or even a boy gets aroused and these types of crimes are committed on them. So, I request all to dress properly and get respect, you are not show pieces as in a shop...

a good fitting jeans and t-shirt of a girl maybe normal for an urban guy.. but a semi rural fellow may find it hot...because he's not used to it or grown up in such an environment..
who is to blame here when poor migrants in a big city react badly towards urban women..

well you need to educate them right? literacy is different than education. Are you up for the tas no, you won't. Time kiske paas hai, those ppl migrate to earn money not to learn how to behave with women. First Indian women should become independent and stop pretending to be independent, i find these modern Indian women to be hypocrites! and btw in Sweden most women are raped remember education is free there

"who is to blame here when poor migrants in a big city react badly towards urban women."
good question. Who is to blame. Those poor migrants are. And the feeble law enforcement. You probably don't know this. A large majority of sexual assaults are by people known to the victim and in domestic environment. It has nothing to do with the woman's behaviour or dress. Alas, this seems to be lost on so many people who are focused on the wrong thing (Women's dress and behaviour).
