Women

Although a male's -ve points have been well captured, they r & cannot be true for every male. Many males r objective by nature, they wont allow personal considerations to get into a discussion, whereas females r generally very subjective in there assessment of even objective matters. Generally I have found them employing cunning tactics & female charms to get ahead & get plum postings & they r very risk averse.

Women issues
by shatadip som on Mar 31, 2010 09:57 AM

It is wrong to say that only men dominate meetings. There are women too who do that.

And it is also wrong to say that only men do their work seriously and women are not serious...I have seen far too many slacker men and hard working women to believe that.

However a glass ceiling does exist for women...there are many chauvanistic men around in the corporate world and it is indeed more difficult for women to grow than men...let us accept that.

you don't have to behave like men behave as what you are
by asha iyer on Mar 31, 2010 09:56 AM  | Hide replies

I don't feel the author has written any thing true
I feel that If you know the subject knowledge and if you work hard every one accepts.

even in my co the female ratio is less

But I have never felt any discrimination because Iam a lady

But I have seen many lady assistants or secretaries talking without any brains, useless things and at that time we professionals feel ashamed .Most of them are so badly behaved and they feel many things can happen without doing proper work

This is my experience from my MNC CO wherby I work for the past 7 years in a very senior position in finance

opinion can differ from persons to persons

the underline word is that
1.Work Hard
2.Know your subject very well
3.Be a team member
4.Don't indulge in office politics
5.Give and take respect
6.Dress properly
7.Unwanted verbal spat a strict no

True Asha...there are incompetent and impolite men and women both.

However there indeed is a breed of women who are not looking for any favours and only want a level playing field.

Should Women behave like Men?
by Opinions on Mar 31, 2010 09:27 AM  | Hide replies

Yes, if the following conditions are met:

1. Women should unzip and compare it with men!
2. In order to beat their chest like men, they should have the same chest size as men!
3. Women need to learn the lingo of "Hey man", "F*ck Off", "Dont p*ss me off" or a "Cork your hole a**hole" and cool down the situation with a "Chill out dude"?
4. Women need to eat in the cafeteria and not bring lunch boxes from home!
5. Women should talk less and work more!
6. Women need stare at men from top to bottom just like men do!

Are women game for it?

Not specific to gender
by Visharad Software on Mar 31, 2010 09:21 AM

It is wrong to say that only male employees behave in an arrogant manner. I have personally come across female employees who give more importance to their ego than to what is good for the company. Their ego is hurt whenever anybody disagrees with them and they become very arrgant and offensive. They even start shouting even to their own bosses. It is not that they shout only when they are right. Many times, they shout to because they know they are wrong and do not like anybody pointing it out to them.
Moreover, becoming arrogant is not the correct way. Suppose in a meeting a project manager says something which is not good for the project. If somebody points it out, then the project manager starts shouting. In such a case, many of the employees may not point out faults in what the manager said and that would harm the project. Of course, the project manager will very conveniently put entire blame on his/her team members even thought it is his/her own fault.

Where is the women's bill
by Vijay on Mar 31, 2010 07:33 AM

What is women bill about? All dual standards politicians. Respect should be given to all genders but the fact is now a days few women (not all) are behaving unethical and this is the reason for the increase in divorce rate. In many cases men have been harrased though they are innocent.

A ridiculous article!
by Indian Dreamer on Mar 30, 2010 02:42 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Author, I am one of the unfortunate employees in a company where the M/F ratio is almost exactly 1. And it never ceases to amuse me to see and hear the women put across their views (some logical, some not) in a loud manner, bordering on arrogance to their male colleagues (and superiors), riding on the fact that they are females and are hence protected by the gender bias rules and regulations! It is very funny to see how these cry-babies immediately go to their superiors for "justice" if any male staff answers back or puts across their views in a similar rude and arrogant manner! These so-called self-styled "feminists" get away with their arrogant ways just because of their gender, cashing in on the in-born respect that any average Indian male would have towards females! I think it is a shame to see this kind of article published! Ask ANYBODY (male or female) who is hard-working and they will tell you that they would prefer to work under a male boss rather than under a female - so much for your claims of females being "considerate and listening"! HA! HA! HA!

Anyway, all the best with your next article!
