Easy to work with male mates or Boss
by govindaraj veeep on Mar 30, 2010 11:40 AM

Long work experience with multi national & multi cultural male and female mates.I feel that interacting with women subordinate or senoir positioned females are uneasy.Mostly cut and dry,no patience with male mates, I don't know it may be misunderstanding or unrealistic thoughts..?

women should learn to contribute than be present
by pramodm on Mar 30, 2010 11:32 AM  | Hide replies

Plenty of opportunities for women today to grow and excel but hardly any would be serious about career after 6 in the evening. IF YOU WANT SHARE IN PROPSEPRITY AND PRIVELEGES, TAKE EQUAL PAINS TO. They prefer soft positions which demand no time uncertanities. They hardly read anything, not even the news paper headlines. Most of the B-school girls do not know who the finance minister is or what women reservation bill is all about. If they take 10% of pain and effort in the interst of the world, that they take for beauty tips, they will be respected for what they speak and do. There is more show in their job than stuff or depth so unfortunate. When they need help, they are ready to take it from any body, at any cost but when it comes to nurturing and develping those below them, they hardly empathize. Female bosses are hated by females and all. sorry for the bluntness but true

Absolutely correct.
Ladies are capable of talking without any substance for minutes in meetings. Only less than 10% of female workers are better than their average male counterpart in corporate world . But companies continue to take them as part of their HR related motivating employee policy.

You are rigt. I will give a real time example. There were 5 girls in my team of 10. All they did was gossip near the coffee machine. At lunch time, all the girls used to sit around a large table, and it took them at least one and half hour to finish lunch (you know what). Somedays it went up to 2 hours. Yes, I observed them, and why not. Who is working late nights when these holes leave on time? Then our manager got changed and lady from US joined. Few days into the job, and she starting telling all these girls bluntly (in front of everyone) about there lack of responsibilities. Was she wrong? Its just that we men will not do something like (sxual harassment allegations). But these girls teamed up with the HR team (full of holes), and filed a complained about this lady manager. Ultimately she left (not sure if she quit or was fired). And the same story again. Was this justice to that lady? Was this justice to the men colleagues? And this is what Prof Shirky is talking about. The phking holes need to work like men.

@pramodm.

100% agree.

The matter of fact i used to work as ASM in an org & my immediate boss was from IIM & a lady too.

She used to say me around 6 pm , listen i have many things pending in my home & i will be leaving.

One day i had serious concern in my home & i told her , i need to leave its urgent.

she told me no u can't, i told her please.

Atlast i have to tell her in simple way, this is the chair that u will not get after resigning & u need to look after that chair but i can be a VP, within 6 months so have the shit job with u ,

I resigned & that lady used to call me & say, sorry , please join us & i had to let her know i am presently HEAD-International Marketing.

She was gone maniac & shouting like anything.

But its true as u have been saying

You are absolutely correct. Women are very narrow-minded. One of my female colleagues is reluctant to work late only bcoz she don't want to miss a TV serial at 7 p.m.

Sultan U r so correct! Majority of the ladies would prefer to make time, to watch their favourite TV serials, regardless of any breaking news on the next News channel! No matter, for them even if there is a Earthquake, they wouldn't budge from their favourite TV screen serial!!

Women are in dilemma
by sultan bhatt on Mar 30, 2010 11:30 AM  | Hide replies

I strongly believe that women are in dilemma. They are not able to decide what they want to do. Many women just can't think beyond their husband, kids, house etc. I think in certain period of their life especially when they get married & have kids ,they should spend some time(Years) at their home without doing job. When they have their children of around 6 years old then they can start doing job again. Children need love affection of their mother until they get into school.

If women do not take care of the home, we will only be money making machines. No love and affection at home. I feel, if women can not manage both work and home, they should not hate their lives and take care of their home. The children will grow in a better atmosphere, if mother is there at home.

It is not the question that a woman should behave like a man or vice versa. The question is how much a women has professional attitude while in the workplace. Now-a-days in any office we see almost 50% of staff are females...and this is very nice. But only 5% of them are actually having a professional attitude. Most of them are having a gossiping mind or mixing their personal life with their professional life or inquiring about other peoples personal life for eg. whether he or she is married or not, what is his or her age, how how many kids he or she has....this and that etc. etc..and it looks more silly when some males also join them.

Women atwrplace r of 2 types
by vishal singh on Mar 30, 2010 11:14 AM  | Hide replies

Their are only two types of women at work place.
1) Who are ambitious 2) Who are just clueless at what they are doing . The womem normally takes lot of time to grasp anythg. It is because of a tendency that they hv always been helped with from the time they were born. In childhood their was her dad todo everythg and then their boyfrens and husband to tk care of all their mistakes. So they just cant grow to b real bright as they know evn in workplace sumone wd cum and correct them evn if they r wrong. The women who are ambitious ,the problem with them is that evn though they know their stuff they do not know where to draw line. They get too authoritative, bossy ,jealous and obnoxious to get ahead of their colleagues and are simply no fun to work with

You hit the bulls eye pal. A very true point by you about them.

Women are used to luxury based on gender, and they expect it all their life. They forget that they are supposed to work like men in the company when they expect an equal salary.

And this is the reason why they asked for reservation every where.

Can i ask u something MS/MRS NASHA FITTER.

Can u let me know how many invention has been done by FEMALE GENDER.

Let me know .

Regarding male counterparts, i don't know whether u worked in a organization [who talk only ]so called themselves as "EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PLAYER" or whether u worked in a dustbin organization, who has all filthy animals.

Have u ever work with, who doesn't waste their time in meeting rather than working?

I think u never had a chance to work with simple & straight company's who don't devour other by saying "EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PLAYER"

as u have been mentioning some experiments showing that boys doesn't listen, i can let u know many experiments where as decision made by women counterparts have made their organization itself a history.

With regards to ur article, as u have been mentioning " many years with corporate world"

See even to come down to understand a single number 0 took more than a civilization & u r putting emphasis by ur so called many years.

get urself a break first.

i do understand that u have jumped directly to a senior position rather being from the bottom .

go some where around the world & take some rest with ur brain frozen.

Hmm, Mr HEAD - INTERNATIONAL MARKETING; i have now sufficiently allowed time for you to take breath; the way you got defensive; it was well!!! amusing if not outright hilarious. if this is your style of marketing god only should save your company; BTW, Aryabhatta is not an inventor my dear student; he is a mathematician and astromer; whole world knows this; so please dont argue; as far as Sir C V Raman and Raman Effect is concerned; Raman Effect is (please save your comments) a discovery for which he was awarded the Nobel. If you see Nobel laureates list for science category, you can see many women winning the prize; OK none are Indian no doubt; but then not many Indian men have won it. and none of the Indian Men have invented anything worth mentioning so far. So dont boast. Let me give you a clue; Motor Car is an invension; Mobile Phone is an invention; Telephone is an invention; radio/TV are invensions; and none of these things were invented by Indian Males; so please control your emotions

imbalance
by shashwat kirwai on Mar 30, 2010 11:08 AM  | Hide replies

There r 2 forces of nature
Yang:- aggressive, assertive, dynamic and creative male force denoted by ever changing sky.
Yin:- Sacrificing, yeilding, stable, intutive, female force denoted by Earth.
Nature is essentialy a dynamic interplay between these two opposing forces.
However humans have caused imbalance in this interplay by giving more importance to yang than yin. Thats why there is breakdown all around us
