UPSC topper:I want to be agent of change
by Krishnadas kiran on Jul 11, 2010 08:14 AM

IAS is law implementing and administration. They are involved in policy making as admin machinery, and are not actually the sole Policy makers. Be it Civic corporations, Urban development authorities, Finance, or anything9. U have right to glorify IITians rbut not to presume that the rest of the Graduates are lower in IQ then the IITians. U may get caned by the youth for such derogatory statements. Understand administration properly before commenting. Also, Please, if u love power so much then go into the IAS. continue the legacy of the British of glorifying bureaucracy and be living in the destructive era. JAPAN raised from ashes and they do not have such falsely glorified administrative machinery like the brits. U belong to the slavery era. U like colonialism. Be bold to bring a tech revolution on the planet if u r IITian, dont sit nested in IAS. Go and serve India in IES.

Please include caste in the census not caste category.
by Pranab M on Jun 29, 2010 11:01 AM

Why is govt allowing dominant caste like yadav eating up almost full pie of OBC reservation ?

We demand that govt include caste not the caste category in census and provide caste based reservation to all caste according to their percentage of the population.

It has been observed that only dominant caste like yadavs are eating up most pie of OBC reservation , so we demand a caste based reservation like yadav 2% , gujjar 5% , it is illegal to club all lion and lambs under OBC category and ask them to compete.

Interview an IAS who has finished his training
by Prateek Gupta on Jun 16, 2010 06:21 AM  | Hide replies

I have seen and read many interviews of toppers of IAS exam. Persons from various backgound clear the exam but there viewpoint is still far from reality. They are newbies wishing to carry out all the necessary changes for betterment of society.
But never someone interview a person who has spent just a few years at work. What were his aspirations and how many of them can he bring out to reality? These and many other may form a better set of questions whose answer may be good for us (as common person) and also IAS aspirants. This is a request to media persons, plz conduct such interview to have better look on IAS.

IAS etc. posting after training
by raman govindan on Jun 15, 2010 09:50 AM

no IAS, IAA&S officer etc. should be posted into their own native states. it is good for them, their native states and whole India. maximum of 5 year tenure can be given to them in their own states after serving the other states for 20 years.

This person seems genuine. He is not only intelligent but has the right ideals too. Glad to know that the Mahatma and his ideals are still alive in Indian minds. May you really become an agent of change!

by D goel on Jun 13, 2010 02:53 PM

D. Goel Pkl., afternoon3.10pm, Sunday, June13, 2010.
I do appreciate the noble feelings for a bright person such as you who has reached the top but one position in Civil Services Exam 2010, and desire to do a bit for your place in Rajasthan.
I may cautiion you, however , that like the Services Exam. itself, you may get hiccups here, too, in your intentions' Realization at the ground level. Your colleagues , subordinates and even Public may not be fully convinced of your capability to bring the great change in affairs that affect Public Good. They may feel bored of your Rhetoric and may doze-off!.
But ,if you truly wish to help the Daridra-Narayana ,I am sure your veneration for Gandhi may keep you steady on the path of such Sewa despite occasional pitfalls.D. Goel

Praksh Raj
by Satya Vyas on Jun 13, 2010 02:48 PM

Yes. We should decide on a tryst after, say 20 years. (Remember, Three Idiots) Then we will see, how far he has walked the talk. otherwise all these will be mere rhetoric. The history so fas has been full of lies and hypocricies, other what India needs is just a few hundred Change Agents out of a billion population to make it a super power. What we now have are Arjun Singhs, Vishwanath Pratap Singhs, Lalus and Paswans. Whta we need is Atals, Manmohans, and Kalams for this country. I would rather suggest the use of lie detector at UPSC to weed out hypocrites.
