IAS/IPS etc. is BIG FARCE
by funtoos on Jun 10, 2010 10:20 PM  | Hide replies

Civil Services is a big farce. I am not trying to put down the candidates who worked hard to succeed but the exam is made tough
because thee are so few vacancies and such a huge population. You need some way of rejecting 99.9% of the applicants.
Once there were 20 vacancies for laborers in a coal mine, they selected the 20 of the 1000 applicants by making them
run 10 kms, first 20 were hired. What other way did the management have to weed out the other 980?

United States is so advanced and has a very good governance, why don't they have something elite as IAS/IPS etc?
If this particular service were so important how could US not have it? Someone will have to do those duties right?
Fact is what a IAS/IPS office does in India, an oridnary county clerk or a cop does in US with no fanfare and does
a much better job. India will not be any different if we abolish civil services, infact we will be better off saving money
on this white elephant.

Hi funtoos, you are very correct in your views.People dont know that this is the beaurocratic system implemented by British empire in India just to divide and rule the Indian slaves (at that time, not now). After independence there have been a great leader i.e.Dr.Rammanohar Lohia who demanded to diminish these IAS/IPS services. In US there is no such services and it is No.1 state in the world.Do you know that in US the police chief and administration heads are elected not selected. They are always responsible for peoples welfare and law and order.

Ya, he would'nt do anything because as you mentioned about the murder of Young Indian oil manager, it is not his death which matters it is the impotency of people like you who don't have the guts to fight against injustice either it is oil adulteration, Bullet proof jacket scam, ot bribe in purchase of war ship from russia or any other thing. U ppl keep quiet and expect everything to happen by itself.. Remember even if a IAS officer wants to make a difference or any other person for that matter he can't do it without active people participation. No revolutionary or reform movement has succeeded without people's support.
