wifi, sms to twitter

if there's wireless access, use twitter

if there isnt, use some bridge technology and post to twitter

If Twitter can save peoples' lives in the middle of Palestine, abducted by Hamas, it can save you too.

Twitter never sleeps, and everyone is on Twitter. So make sure you tell all your friends to follow you on Twitter, and you follow them, and so on.

And keep posting your location and views, maybe just a sentence every 2-3 hours, your cellphone is something that can be on your person 24x7.

If you're acting, you're among friends so every other time, you should keep your cellphone with you.

If you know the risks you have, keep TWO cellphones, and dont use the other one for normal work.

But keep your close friends informed and keep your own group channel on Twitter for just this kind of purpose.

At all times, one cellphone must be fully charged, no exceptions.

SMS to email exists even with Rediff, AFAIK, and there are many such services.

email to Twitter exists

so in short you can ALWAYS post to twitter if you have a cellphone and SMS is working.

If you go to places without cell phone access, that needs special consideration and special tools but things are affordable nowadays.

Use technology which has proven to be secure and/or bring security to people around the world, especially when it is cheap or free like Twitter.

Internet is a magical thing. Use the magic.

One of you tech-savvy ladies can even make a tech startup for women's security.

Another thing you can do is to get a way to show the hotel staff that you have constant contact with the outside world.

This can be done in a number of ways.

Get a friend or two to use Google Maps and tell you about the important landmarks around your hotel.

When you are doing so, make sure the waiter is watching.

Ask the waiter/receptionist about the landmarks close by.

Tell him that he/she should wait a minute before you get this info from your friends on the internet.

Demonstrate it to him/her that you can get info in *real-time* and *live* about whatever you are conversing about with him / her

The thing with most crooks is that they have no idea of technology.

When you sufficiently highlight your technology magic and hint to them that help is just one button press away for you and that you can get information about *them* and their neighbourhood inside 5 minutes, then they will know not to mess around with you, because you have **powerful contacts that work 24x7**

You really really need to show your fangs, if not hiss or bite.

In China hospitality industry is mostly handled by women.

In a hotel starting from Reception to room boy, cleaning person all are ladies. This environment is really safe for women lodgers.

I feel similar equal opportunity should be provided to Indian woman also which can serve the purpose of both increasing women employment and women safety...

The hotels should also have professional security guards...close circuit cameras must be installed on corridors and lanes with security monitoring the same in TV screen.
We Indians should start respecting woman in real sense and woman being the weaker ssex should get support from man to serve as professionals..

Ladies beware
by Harsh Mehta on Feb 11, 2010 01:22 PM

It is true many women executives are required to travel to many cities in course of employment and solution can be to open hotels exclusively for ladies and to be managed by ladies staff, no entries for gent except in common room which will also not in main building but in attached seperate building, all again to be guarded by CCTV.Women customers in their own interst during their stay in hotel should note down place they are visitingand their probable time of return and mobile nos etc.above simple arrangement could will be foolproof

SAFETY OF WOMEN
by ANOOP RASTOGI on Feb 11, 2010 01:16 PM  | Hide replies

Life is important of men and women both and both should take all the precautions. There are very few examples of women being in danger in 5 star hotels from hotel staff. Bipasha's case is different as she refused to honour her commitment and any body in her place would have had the same fate or may be worse. These type of actresses only know how to make money of slightest of the reason but hoot to care about other's money, emotions or other considerations bestowed on them. By doing this kind of activity they want to remain in focus and gain cheap publicity and sympathy.
