Good to bring this subject up. Now with women empowerment many young women have to travel alone and this will be good eye opener for them and their keens. Better to be safe than sorry.
what has the bipasha incident got to do with this story? even if it were a male celebrity in her place, he would have gotten into the same trouble. she got into trouble for not fulfilling her contractual obligations, not for being a female. and if they were the kinds to sexually harass a woman, they would perhaps do it even if she'd done nothing wrong, so the incident is still irrelevant.
sometimes i think rediff's journalists require skills in analytical reasoning.

You (In fact, all for that matter. Including me) will read only if the article goes likes this.
While changing clothes in Hotels and textile showrooms, it is very important to make sure that the mirror is not a two way.
Have you seen recent advertisement of M/S SAINT GOBAIN GLASSES shown in Television? If yes then you must have known about 2 Way mirror.
Not to scare you, but to make sure that you aware. Some of the hotels and textile showrooms cheat the customers this way and watch privately.
How to determine if a mirror is 2 way or not?
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, are actually a 2-way mirror i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them. There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms or bathroom or bedrooms.
It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?
CONDUCT THIS SIMPLE TEST:
Test 1: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a "GAP" between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a "GENUINE" mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!(there may be someone seeing you from the other side). So remember, every time you see a mirror,do the "fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything.

the other way is correct. (ie) if there is a GAP then it is 2 way mirror & if there is NO GAP then it is a real mirror.

no, tarun is right. Try using a pin instead of finger. I have tried it, it works with a sharp object like a pin or finger 'nail'.

@balaji- try doing with a pin or your nail instead of finger. It may sound odd but try it, i faced the same problem that you are facing. That is the reason why tarun has said to use 'finger nail', not the finger.

In China hospitality industry is mostly handled by women.
In a hotel starting from Reception to room boy, cleaning person all are ladies. This environment is really safe for women lodgers.
I feel similar equal opportunity should be provided to Indian woman also which can serve the purpose of both increasing women employment and women safety...
Please give a sub heading to this story, like, say, " EXCLUSIVELY FOR LADIES ONLY " Otherwise menfolk will also read this article and find out all the LOOPHOLES and try to take advantage of the same, while women are staying ALONE in a Hotel room. B'cos all the way and means to exploit a single woman are covered exhaustively in this article !
