Engineering

A story not worth publishing. He selected one of the options available to him. He decided to pursue NDA instead of Engineering in a third grade college. Did he secure admission to IIT or Stanford? What is the bloody sacrifice?

recently i spoke about changing drivers license and implementing western policies in it to one of the politician... and benefities where...

permanent address to track a person
finger print to catch suspect
photo id - solid identification
vehicles under those names - catch hit and run
throw illegal ppl out
ticket system to improve drivin sense and
raise funds for infrastructure
create more employment
thereby improve the database of govt.

this politician told me that govt. won't do since they are more interested in vote bank...

i seriiously felt like throwing a punch at them...

Kalpana Natarajan
wow!! bravo young man!!!!
by Kalpana Natarajan on May 01, 2010 01:59 AM

I am appreciating this young man for his interest in serving the nation, and daring to leave the rat race. I pray the army pays its soldiers well, and make good career paths for them.. so that more people take cue and join.

Only when careers other than engineering and medicine start paying well, and creating good career paths, will this rat race for these two courses stop.. and people will start thinking out of the box.

A perfect example
by Blazer on Apr 30, 2010 01:37 AM  | Hide replies

in the 90's when there was flood in AP , railways stopped all trains at every railway station. This train Tamilnadu express was stopped at a small town Rly Station for more than 36 hours, the canteen inside the train ran out of stock. There were 2 scenarios's

The local rotary club was providing free milk to infant and kids free of cost and some medicines to the sick. All these by some good students and senior citizens.

The local businessman were selling packed food at 5 times more than the regular cost. 4 pooris around 100 bucks.

The Minister who visited the railway station has all praise for the local businessman who sold food and not a single line of appreciation to the rotary club who has done an excellent job for free.

Bottomline only marketing works in India. Everyone serves the country in one form or the other. We should identify the real ones.

Praise for the local businessman means a cut for the minister.
What was his gain in praising rotary club.

Prasanta Majumdar
We all serve the nation
by Prasanta Majumdar on Apr 29, 2010 07:17 PM

If he is following this page regularly, i am sure by this time he has left NDA after seeing so many adverse comments of us. Sriram has just joined Engineering course and not a drop out. He can always join engineering course after he completes NDA and Naval Academy ( he is a Naval Cadet). Indian navy will send him for Engineering if he wants or any other higher course he desires to pursue, he may also be sent abroad for further studies. Here I would also like to clarify that serving the nation does not only mean joining defence forces, every citizen of India is serving the nation in their own way according to their ability, expertise in the true sense as long as they are not involved in any anti-national activities. My son is also in NDA if anybody requires any information about NDA he can write to me at(majumdar_pk at rediffmail.com).
