only Army Men Serve the nation ?
by axemanaxeman on Apr 29, 2010 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

This guy thinks that only army men serve the nation which is quite immature.Would like to know which engineering college he quit . Wont be IIT or NIT for sure. Without economic might ,India would have only a military with bows & arrows like the one which lost the war with China.
Its the engineers who are building dams, power plants, nuclear weapons, roads, missiles, tanks, computers & contributing to the growth of the nation.
Better acknowledge that all citizens serve their nation & in a free country it's their choice how they do it.No need to look down upon others. Imagine India without Engineers, doctors, pilots, teachers, nurses, actors ,drivers, dancers, singers etc etc & you can imagine India as another Afghanistan or some banana republic. The Americans have a more powerful army & their soldiers do not strut around thinking that they only serve the nation.

and axe man sure needs to go back to jungle and chop trees with axes keeping in mind his constricted knowledge about the proficiency required to top NDA.all those who dont make it ,just cant take it.of over lakhs of candidates little less than five hundred make it. and that is not just making it,very few stay imperished in the three years of demanding curriculum and most importantly the only reason i had to write this for the thousands of pride cadets serving the prestigious academies in our nation is because they are busy training hard to become formidable fence to our national borders.keeping in mind the famous saying"YOU NEED TO MAKE FENCE BEFORE YOU MAKE A HOUSE".i dont expect an axeman of nomadic times to understand such complicated arguements.

and most importantly kudos to Cadet S M Sriram, make the nation proud.
PS:-"The aftermath of the war saw sweeping changes in the Indian military to prepare it for similar conflicts in the future, and placed pressure on Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who was seen as responsible for failing to anticipate the Chinese attack on India"-
citation wikipedia.
we lost because we were not liquidating enough funds to military.

listen "axeman" square whatever you are, these docs and engineers sure do for da country. but in case of national crisis like a terrorist insurgency or war(civil or otherwise) or national calamity; apart from doing for the country you need to die for it.its easy to mint money sitting in a room building crafts and missiles but tough to dodge bullets. wonder if most of the soldiers from kargil came back to wipe tears of their mothers eyes or console their wives.

Sure, Engineers,Doctors ,Nurses etc certainly serve the nation. No doubt about it. But how many of these engineers and doctors are willing to stand in front of guns and grenades from across the border in chilling temperatures? Back seat driving and front seat driving is not the same...:) So leave the young man alone for god's sake.

Hey buddy; half knowldge i svery harmful.
U mentioned something about Americans..R U really aware of the plifgt of the American Soldiers... 80-90% of the soldiersare from poor families and they join the forces for the free education one get if u serve the nation for 5 yrs. BTW do u know the suicide rate among the American soldiers is one of the highest in world )Reason: PTSD: Post taumatic Stress Disorder

Just one more point: Armed forces are the laet corrupted profession in our country especially among Junior and Middle level officers

Mr. axe your axe or whatever your name seems to be.u missed out on facts.i am not sure what your concept of a 'military man's job' is.but i sure do know that to earn they are definitely not on bows and axes(very unlike you)all the time, they too are trained into something more than a 12th grade "fight club fan" viz a viz electrical and technical engineers, doctors, instructors, pilots, nurses, divers etc...sadly it seems your passionate flow resulting of your various complexes has blinded your vision for fact.no one looked down upon you until the moment you chose to write such an obnoxious piece of insult for the men who are awake to provide you a safe sleep.correction, its not an insult to them, more of it to you...

is it a news???
by vipul saxena on Apr 29, 2010 11:25 AM  | Hide replies

My friend was studying in a private engineering college and three of his classmates joined NDA after 1-2 semesters. The thing is that private engineering colleges have no future and people always opt for better pastures. NDA is million times better then doing BE from some private college. Unless u do engineering from IIT/NITs or few reputed government colleges, rest of all BEs are junk.

Dedication for nation
by Rajive Kohli on Apr 29, 2010 10:33 AM

We require more such guys who are dedicated to the country. They should be in all walks of life. It is shameful to see so many young people hankering for money and a soft life.

It is a big deal, because he Topped the NDA exam out of the 5 LAKH candidates who took it! Of course it is news. Just like the interview of any IAS topper is news. This boy has done his family, his state, and himself proud!
