Dont Try for the Easy Way (OZ,UK) - Try for the Best Way
by Rahul on Jan 08, 2010 11:48 AM

US is always better and safer for desis , but these people who go to UK and OZ deny this by saying british and aussies are friendly and that americans are racist.

The truth is, Americans are mostly very nice to Indians.

People with dubious educational backgrounds and people lazy or fearful of GRE and GMAT go to these colleges of Australia and UK inspite of the local peoples racist attitude. For applying to US, the applicant also needs to do a lot of work, in the case of UK and AUstralia, the educational consultants take care of everything. This lazy way of going abroad makes these students to look at only these easy options.

They then go to these countries and say they are studying in those countries because they love Aussies and British more than Americans. All this inspite of knowing that Financial Aid options are better in the US, dont mind spending parents money in OZ and UK because they love the easy and lazy way to get a foreign degree in UK and Australia.

Finally what happens? Working overtime for low pays, Being Butt of Racist Attacks,Poor financial Aid. All because you wanted to take the lazy and easy way out. Im sorry if I offended the sentiments of anyone.

All Indians should come together to counter this racist Australia but not by violence but by Gandhian way like
1. Quit Australia movement --Not to use any australian products ,ban all OZ universities to come to India as this will effect 15 billion doller education market of OZ
2. We should not watch any OZ players in IPL3

3. BCCI should severe any cricketing ties with OZ as we should treat OZ as a rerrorists country like Pakistan .Racism is worst than terrorism
4. Ban OZ to participate in Comonwealth games

our humbleness towards otherrs
by manoj kumar on Jun 10, 2009 03:45 PM  | Hide replies

this is manoj and i would like to suggest that the attacks which recently were held on ndian students because our indian countourparts are showing leniency towards them just if a thing again happens kike this again then we should give response to them in the same way as they are behaving with us.some of you may think that it may be wrong to do just as i said but if you tthink that when they are not respecting our culture and doing these kinds of attacks on the basis of raciality then they should also know that how an indian can react whan he is being harrased.

I dont agree, that we must reply their bad behaviour. if we do the same thing then every body see all indian as a terrorist (same like as all muslims are terrorists) not as a victum. So my suggestion is that have a patience dont over react.Try to avoid any thing that hurts them and dont visit pubs & bars at late night, use polite language (specially english).

A successful ENTREPRENEUR is worth 10 MBAs and 10 PHDs.
However, I suggest every Indian to work and live in a Western Nation for at-least 3 months.
You will learn the good, bad and ugly sides of their and YOUR culture and socio-economic conditions.

What a suggestions..
by harsha on Jun 01, 2009 03:54 PM  | Hide replies

Your Suggestion:

Never ever talk in Hindi or other languages when you are standing next to Aussies. This is a very big humiliating thing to those people. Always talk in English.

My Suggestion:

Also When Australians/ Whites come to India.. Always talk in English and feel proud.. Never utter Hindi or any Indian languages.. They will be humiliated..

So always speak in english to satisy them (in India & abraod..)

Always hide your languages/ culture

Well, you are right. If we are sitting in a restaurant with our family in Australia and some of the members do not understand English, how would we talk to each other?"Hey Dadi Mite(mate), wanna have pizza with some extra cheese on it?"

and

Why would anybody feel humiliated if we are talking in our native language, unless and until we are pointing to them and laughing our @$$ Off?

Instead,

carry a pepper spray anywhere and everywhere you go.

YOUNG INDIANS WHO COME TO AUSTRALIA FOR STUDIES OR JOB SHOULD BEAR IN MIND THAT, THERE IS A VAST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CULTURES OF BOTH NATIONS. THINGS WHICH THE YOUNG INDIAN GUYS AND GALS TAKE FOR GRANTED IN INDIA ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO EARN IN AUSTRALIA. UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE FIRST. DON'T TRY TO IMPOSE YOURSELF ON A NATIVE AUSTRALIAN.

We, Indians are proud to be called Indians for we are the torch bearers of civilization till 15th century. World was looking at us for guidance and direction. We were far ahead and we had a wonderful culture and civilization. Australia is a country of Immigrants and to be frank the rulers of Aus are not the natives. It is true that Australians can never compete with India in any of the fields simply because we have the continuity in heritage and we own 1/6th of world population. Never under-estimate India. Day will come when e will dictate terms to you. Australia is not yours not any of white or coloured people. Technically Aus is owned by aboriginals and they are the one who shud dictate terms to the immigrants.

Shouldn't we Indians concentrate on our jobs of making our India a bigger better place? Why do you need to play a George Bush trying to decide that others' things are broken and then go mend them?

Some serious flawed views here.. Not sure if any of you have ever been to Australia.. But australia is a very multi-cultural country. Australians today are more than likely to be decedents of Greek/Italian/Asian immigrants instead of the pure white australians. Yes, the first europeans to arrive and work in australia might be convicts from England. But what has that got to do with Australians today? If your grand parents are thugs.. does that make you a thug? that sort of logic is seriously flawed and is a simple cop out for someone who does not understand the real issue behind the problem

I myself is a chinese Australian. I moved to Melbourne from China when I was 13 years old.. To me, Australia is a tolerant/fair country when it comes to immigrants, as most of them are immigrants themselves. You talk about racism. Do you really believe Australians is more racist than Indians (re Cast system)? Yes, you will get some racist people like Pauline Hanson but they are the minority.. as every group/nation has their black sheep.

The real issue with Australia now is growing violence among youth/immigrants. Alcohol/drug abuse among youth is a big problem, and violence is just one of many symptons. I think you will find crime as a whole has increased dramatically over the last 2-3 years. (yes, these include crimes against non-indians). so, please try understand the real issues before you just to conclusions.

Go to Australia if you want to wotk in farms, cattle rearing
by Whiteman on Jun 01, 2009 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

With millions of australians jobless already in Australia, how can they give/affords jobs to outsiders & expats? Its common sense. Then why are innocent students lured into studying & working in Australia by the university bodies like IDP, Sydney/melbourne university etc. The most luring catch is you can live after completeing your degree & work in australia and earn in dollars. Bull shit. There are no jobs. There are no industries. Only Farming & mining. India would rather send some farm labourers there like the British in the past to work in plantations. What we find today is indian students working in farms, washing waste etc. just to earn living. Lack of Industries is definitely a point. So why do Indians want to go to australia?

Whiteman:

Thanx for the update..... Kindly point out to us mere idiots on the forum why shouldn't a University offer education if there are no jobs in the market?....
Or did you mistakenly believe that the Universities GUARANTEE jobs in Australia?

Have you cared to look at the latest DIAC residency applications processing guidelines?

Since you ask that bold question in the end, why did YOU go to Australia by the way?... ;-)
