Gayathri put it very clearly. She has done a very good and right thing by posting this article.
Oh ... my.... You have reached up to cat exam. This shows you have sharper brain and very hard worker with willingness to work. Let me tell you, it is hard to find peole like you.
I wish I am rich enough to hire a few who failed in cat.
I assure you,you will srike rich much sooner than the people who made it. All you have to do is to keep up the same tempo, look for suitable opportunity. ofcourse there are plenty them and always you can create one, trust me
"CAT is the toughest exam." lol.. no more! Take a look at this year's CAT paper. What was under test is hard to tell. This year the CAT tested nothing more than the ability to handle pressure though the pressure (most of which is created by the hoopla about the exam) should have vanished the moment a candidate had a good look at the paper! This year's CAT is no wonder going to give the coaching institutes a run for their money (everything except the verbal section was so easy!)! So all the CAT 2007 aspirants.. CHILL!!! N the mantra for all those who din' fare well this year is "CHILL" as well! The other exams are waiting to be cracked n to be cracked by YOU!! cheers!
As far as gayatri's article is concerned...i think she must be someone who hasn't seen the world outside village. I understand and agree that CAT is tough but it's the toughest is a crap. There is IAS,IPS,CA,CS,CWA,MBBS,MD and lots more which are equally tougher as CAT+MBA. As as far as comparing CAT as toughest in the world...dear there is CIMA,CFA,CISA and lots more. This reminds me of a famous line " An ant staying in our house believes it's the whole world".
Life does not end without CAT, Do a 2 year Full time PG from the same reputed colleges. "Lift yourself in a way that you yourself feel lifted"
CAT surely is most competitive exam in certain exams if you compare the time per question, 20-30 secounds per question, the speed is th key though luck counts a bit, however it does not require detailed sudy of specfic tech subjects like IIT-JEE or MED ENTRANCE .
IAS is a diff exam altogether very few common test sujects exams plus brightest people wirting are not writing the exam any more, as was the case earlier ,I mean 20 -30 years back . that does not mean it not competitive.
IF i say something ,or even if someone else say ,then it must be supported by credentials .So first visit site of any big company, and in most of the case you'll find that all the top positions are acquired by the person studied abroad. GMAT ,GRE are relatively easier to indian tests ,thanks to the reservation policy ,corruption. So if not CAT then plan for GMAT.In US college you'll need around 70-80 lakhs for 2 year MBA programme, but if you are eough bold and confident you can take a loan. Just think ,average starting salary for thes colleges is around 5,000,000. MBA from a US college will groom your personality. Well if you dont want to spend this much then you can opt for an MBA from Europe,Canada or Australia. Some collges charge very less fees.
