Suggestion
by Dishan on Jul 31, 2006 10:31 AM

Hello Sheela,

I feel that you should have a talk with your Boss.
The discussion should be in such a way that you should be asking for his sugestion with respect your Job by this you will come to know what really your Boss wants from his subordinates. you should later analyse the discussion and his suggestion provided for you so that later you can analyze his way of thought process and working. i think before taking a major decision of quiting from the job you should analyze the situation to understand why your Boss rejects your ideas or suggestion.

Hope this will help you

Thanks,

Dishan

hi sheila
I don't know the what is the right solution for it . but what i feel with even my boss, till I don't listen to him to get his intent . There may be some hidden intentions from which he is listening to you and rejecting everything .
If ur boss does not have any mailicous intention and he has a good intention to fullfill the needs of organization and based on that he is rejecting ur ideas, then u need to look into urself. what do u intend to by giving ur ideas?
for example, sometime just to please my boss, I give some immatured ideas, my boss may feel happy but that does not fulfill the need of organization .
I will suggest one more thing, be more transparent to ur boss then to anybody else.
Because boss is a father-like figure in ur job. if u r hiding something in ur job form ur boss, u try whatever tricks, it is not going to give u peace.
anyway thanks for giving me such platform .
the same applies to me also .

RE:Does your boss listen to you?

First of all, stop getting disappointed. Do not give your life for the company you work for. Be thoroughly professional. Here are my suggestions:
1)Study your Boss's behaviour.
2)Try to find out reason, why she does so.
3) If she is doing this with everyone, ignore her behaviour and stop thinking about it.
4) Else try to do, what she likes, do not be aggressive. Be modest
5) Try to look for another job in parallel
6) Remember, you can not make everyone happy. The list may include your Boss!
7) In last but not the least, do some self analysis, if there is something wrong about your approach, attitude towards work. If yes, be smart & rectify it. Ofcourse, do not dig very deep.

Hope this helps.

Does your boss listen to you
by Shyam on Jul 31, 2006 09:32 AM

Dear Sheila,

One thing always keep in your mind. The suggestion will be accepted only if they have faith on your thoughts. To gain his faith suggest the idea where your boss will feel he is getting a credit. Once this idea works & he had appreciated for a suggestion which was given by you he will start listening to your any suggestions.

Does your boss listen to you?

Changing the job is equivalent to shifting the problem to another day and another place. What's the guarantee that a similar boss won't be around in the new job ?

If everything else is all right with the present job and the only problem is the "boss", then stick on to the job. Prove your worth by giving result-oriented feedback. Not mere ideas. Start documenting things. Send e-mails, send copy to the boss's boss occasionally. Make yourself noticed both by your presence and absence. Avoid gossip, talk when relevant and talk to the point. In meetings, give relvant suggestions which cannot be ignored - when I mean meetings, it's when the boss's boss is also present.

Winners never Quit and Quitters never Win.

Good luck.
