There are millions of citizens in this country who have similar views, concerns, feelings worries, but unfortunately, these millions do not get together to do something to put an end to all the farce. In fact they watch the farce channels more than those who voted. These millions do not get enrolled as electorate and do not bother to vote or raise a question when some goon seeks a vote! Ironically enough, in AP the electoral officers (Central and State Government employees) rigged the polls openly! So, who is to blame? Media wants a quick buck, do not blame them, they ought to be like that. They are not citizens, they are not responsible public; they have no duties, only rights and privileges. They are run by foreign money. But what of the people, say the balance 45 to 50 per cent who did not vote? What about the CEC who allowed goons to contest? What about the Courts who sit on the cases of these goons for decades till they die a natural death? Now think over, Mahesh Vijapurkar, and tell who has to be blame for the entire state of affairs.
India TV media, particularly New channels are the most corrupt, faulty, insincere, anti-national, anti-hindu, anti-indian tradition, foreign culture promoters, totally partician and does not hold any journalistic value of even 0.0000000000000000000001%. they should be banned and does not deserve any concession.
Lets not forget the fact that Sonia Gandhi is named as one of the most powerful women in the world by an American magazine. Losing this elections would have been a big blow to the powerful woman from India (who literally runs the country in the name of pseudo politics). The powerful lady would have done everything possible to ensure that she and her party stays in power right from having CEC who favors her, rigging the EVMs, handing out money to buy votes and even choosing who has to be the President of India (remember the person who invites the PM to form the government, remember the way Abdul Kalam was outed by the INC in favor of a woman dummy President who favors the INC)...It is a total shame that India elections are still not democratic, they are ruled by the POWER...

Because if she hits 272 even blind followers like you would start doubting her...
Extremely MANIPULATIVE and plagued by extreme double standards, there is nothing to feel good about or no reinforcement of positives.
Day in and day out what is dished out is absolutely irrelevant matter in the name of investigative and informed journalism.
The ordinary viewer has no control over this so he/she just watches it for entertainment value and promptly forgets it - because whatever he watches is imminently forgettable, anyway.
A kind of immunity grows on you. Whatever one watches or hears or reads does not have any kind of effect at all. It is like having your FM radio on, when you are driving. Just a habit. Period.
India being what it is - an unruly democracy - there are no real check and balance mechanisms for anything - leave alone the media. So media has a field day, everyday.
This ridiculous sham dished out is a shame on the entire country supposedly filled to the brim with "intelligent" people.
But who cares.
Success and popularity in our country of remarkably indifferent populace is measured only in terms of advertising revenues pulled in.
After a long time i came across an article which has portrayed the real truth of our television media. Everything what you say is exactly what majority of educated indians feel. They are the biggest danger to our democracy because think of lacs of people who are not at the same intellectual level to decide what is right and gets carried away be this biased tv reports. One example of their absolute stupidity is to characterize this election as without having any issue. The reality which they should have reported is that despite having the following serious issues which concerns the so called Aam Admi, no Political Party has focussed or raised it in a major way publicly, -Inflation. Just compare the prices of all commodities in 2004 and 2009. It has made life miserable for a vast majority of Indians who survive on fixed amount of Income. -Terrorism and sense of Insecurity. -Massive infrastructure issue like nearly 10 to 12 hour of power cuts in many states. There are many more issues but the tragedy is that this idiots have not concentrated on any of them and not asked any spokesman any nagging questions on this. Secondly none of them have asked probing questions on Secularism to any of the Congress people and what exactly they mean by that. Has anyone been seriously punished for communal riots or anti sikh riots till date? What did the congress do. The solution as per Manmohan Singh is how long we can remember it? OK Then why to remember Gujarat riots only?

Absolutely true, when I was watching these channels I forgot who is ruling, it’s NDA or UPA, usually the ruling party has to face the heat but I saw only NDA was questioned.

All these TV anchors sit in AC rooms and they do not have any idea about the issues faced by common man. That is why they say that there are no issues.
The writer obviously is upset with NDTV brand of reporting and analysing. While some of the points he raised are relevant, the point about Mrs Gandhis meeting (with which Sekar gupta and the bearded Pranoy Roy went gaga )the wwriter says that it was mentioned after the results were out is not true. It was first aired about 3 days before the counting when most people expected congress to get 5 - 6 seats in UP. The wrong thing about Pawar being projected was that he was aspiring to use a fractured mandate to come to power with about 15 mps. Pawar and Praful Patel themselves told that with few nos he does not have a realistic chance.

I understood your frustration about writter. I think anybody who is neutral in thinking or who is thinking rationally should be upset with NDTV. I am not supporter of BJP. it is for your kind information. The way NDTV was producing news about other leaders except congress was rediculous. Please mr. Xavier first be indian and then think second whatever you want.

Its a F U C K I N fractured mandate whn 55% doesn't vote... its a fractured mandate whn the person goin to lead the largest democracy in the world is "picked" by a family...
* Total voters = 700 million * Those who vote = 350 million * Votes needed to win = 175 million Since as per BBC, 80% Indians live on 20 rupees a day, you can BUY or BRIBE a vote for $2.

I think you are an unthankful internet based product on India, where u sitting outisde the country had the right to do some shoddy maths and disrespect the opinion of those who voted. I should ask you who prevented those 350 million to vote. Were they idiots like you or just cribbers like. Grow Up.

these 350 millions of peoples are the bread earning members of the family, whose names are either thrown out or not in the so called voter list. They shd have right to voter wherever they are.
REAL FACE OF biased INDIAN MEDIA. Every media is owned by overseas Christian organisations. It was difficult to believe but the Election coverage by TV Media is prooving the point. BUT NOW IT IS PROVED BEYOND DOUBT. (1)No TV Media aired the News on the suicide of Senior Vadhera. If any such death had happened in the family of a BJP person, the Media would have gone agog with the news. (2)Teestha Setalwad was exposed of creating most of the Gujarat Riot Stories and in fact taken the Supreme court almost for a ride.Imagine a similar offence by the opposite side. There would have been discussions, hen fights, opinion polls and SMS surveys.
The MEDIA OF THIS DECADE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR AGES TO COME. IT IS A BLOT ON JOURNALISM.
Is there any Indian who will lodge a criminal case on Testha Setalwad for her crimes against the communal harmony of this country?

If you are an Indian, which i think you are, go and file the case urself. Leave the internet and go out and do it.
For ur own sake, dont just stoop to bring the level of owner ship of media based on religion. I thnik u belong to the BJP mindset. GO ON... u ll pay the price.
This is a brilliant article. It captures exactly what was going through in my mind and he has articulated the view points beautifully. Kudo's to Mr.Mahesh Vijapurkar for this article. I enjoyed reading it immensely. Thanks Mahesh
After the elections all the tv channels became official Congress Party vehicles...Sagaraika Ghouse did not know the difference between resigning his post as leader of the opposition and from the party....Headlines Today kept on saying that Sonia Gandhi has invited Lalu, Paswan and Pawar for the cabinet meeting on Monday...when its the prerogative of the PM!!!
