SPEWING TRASH
by hanif mohammed on May 17, 2009 05:52 PM

Regardless of what TV pundits preach, we have to use our own judgement, against what we hear and see in real life. One would be stupid enough to go along with the views of TV experts, as they are handsomely paid or pampered, to spew trash !! so that they (TV channel) earn their dime .....

Reasons
by Madhu on May 17, 2009 05:26 PM

Here is my analysis why NDA lost-

1. Average 50% voting- out of 50 people, atleast 20 would have been Non-Hindus who voted against BJP. Rest 30 votes were devided and did not go full to BJP.
2. BJP's negative campaign- it was wrong to make repeated attacks on MMS. Instead they should have highlighted previous NDA achievements like roads etc. They should also have highlighted more about thier Income tax rebates plans which would attract people.
3. Tactical voting by voters for a national party- In TN/AP, the only available option was Congress and people went with it.
4. Huge support from Media
5. Basic nature of Indians supporting a Monarchy

My feeling is that BJP will never come to power as Muslim population keeps increasing every 5 years!!Add Rahul effect to that and you will see only Congress next.

BJP & its supporters cant see problem in its own party but they see problem every where CEC, rigging voting m/c media, pole prediction etc. even half the effort if they had put on connecting with masses, they would have won.

1.afzal guru lives on to see 2014
2. kasab will probably get biryani, perfume , newspapers and a walk(probably to freedom too!)
3.a whole lot of news anchors (come on guys you know who!) get padma shrees and if already received then maybe a bharat ratna
4.waiting period increases for LPG cylinders
5. petrol diesel hikes and worse shortages and black marketing of petroleum.
6.back door entries to ministries via rajya sabha?
7.a few more judgements from sc regarding a few more leaders
8.and yes oh my god all these 24 hour news hungry channels which give only views and not news will go ballistic.

BJP's voters dont vote
by Tamagna Gupta on May 17, 2009 03:33 PM  | Hide replies

I have seen quite a few people in this site coming out in support of the BJP both before and after the elections. Despite of that BJP lost. The reason for that is that the BJP's supporters don’t come out to vote. They prefer sitting in their rooms and writing comments on the websites. Blaming the media for BJP's defeat is very immature and uncalled for. Please note the average turnout in this election was about 58 %. So who were those 42 % who did not vote. It was the upper middle class and the younger lot. Lets accept that despite the much hyped "Pappu campaign" so many people did not vote. The old and the poor have always voted for the congress only. Low turnout over the years has been one of the reasons why congress has won the Lok sabha elections more often than not. I am sure if the turnout had been above 70%, the results would have been different.

Totally agree with your comments. Voting should be made mandatory for all citizens. Congress comes to power only by piggybanking on the minorities and the underprivileged, many of whom even do not know whom they are voting for. Their fathers and forefathers have taught them that the congress is the only party in India. This election is not a victory for the congress. It is the defeat of the educated (or so called) masses in India.

There should be online voting. They are not introducing it because they are afraid their vote bank will be defeated.

What about Manifesto
by mridul mishra on May 17, 2009 03:17 PM  | Hide replies

Leave aside a detailed analysis of local issues, none of the news channels telecasting "real issues related to elections" even remembered something called manifesto( barring the joke from SP). Can I see a single channel carrying an analysis on what was there in the manifesto fo a particular party and how much have they fulfilled it? I hope I need to wai for my gray hairs.

Media Bias: Part 2
by Vindesh Deshmukh on May 17, 2009 03:04 PM  | Hide replies

1. Shekhar Gupta had received Padma Shree by "walking" around with high and mighty (pun really intended).
2. Barkha Dutt is next on line. We should send "letters of support" for her for losing journalistic virginity and doing the Original Sin. Her name should be put forward for Padma Vibhusan.
3. Why Sharad Pawar's role in perjury in Mumbai bomb blasts (he intentionally added a Muslim dominated area in the list) not highlighted by media?
4. Vir Sanghvi's blatant bias on The Dynasty support?
5. Is it not communal to tie up with IUML?
6. Why role of Mumbai misgovernance played down in spite of the Terrorist attack of 26/11? When Vilasrao shamelesly started off (after the results in NDTV interview) with a comment that its just an incident and its not important for the citizens, he was intelligently cut in the middle and diverted by Barkha Dutt. It is a shame for us Mumbaikars that we have no nationalistic attitude. We deserve to die, suffer from Bomb attacks, planned terrorists attacks and media manipulations. Shame to us. We Mumbaikars are destined to go down in history. We suffer from amnesia of the highest order. Our minds have been corrupted to accept impotent leaders who shamelessly parade in the bombed Taj. When we will rise? Does the media persons have the guts to accept the impotency of our leaders who make us forget our sufferings?
7. Why media is silent about the rigging of EVMs? Why this story is played down? What about the role of money and guns in UP elections?

Rrigginngg Is King!!
by Cool ChandraThakur on May 17, 2009 03:03 PM

Rrigginngg Is King!!
Clear RriggginnggOf Elections via Kangress appointed CEC
Everybody who was troublesome for Congress has lost:
Left Down 50%
Mayawati's BSP: Down 50% (Even though she was expected to do extremely well)

Jayalalitha: Last time 0 this time up, but not much at all, even though expected to do well
Laloo & Paswan(Had given Congress only 3 seats): Down 70%
Shiromani Akali Dal: Down 50%

Chiranjeevi: Expected to do very well in AP, crushed

On Other hand:
AP, Kangress expected to get smashed, sweeps.
Kangress needed to get a foothold in UP, Bihar, was unthinkable earlier but again, has happened
Kangress needed to crush BJP, whereever they had established a foothold: Orissa, BJD unexpectedly sweeps
In Bihar, Nitish gets so much success, it has upset balance between him & BJP. So he will start thinking of ditching them

UPA gets close to majority AND no one suspects that its rigged.
Kangressi Channels(NDTV, CNN-IBN) are exact in exit poll predictions, everyone else is wrong (Ha!)
Chief Election Commissioner has won it for Kangress. Just like the West-Indian umpire handing cricket series over to Australia.

NET RESULT, inspite of TERROR ATTACKS, PRICE-RISE, MINORITY APPEASEMENT, by putting rubberstamps in all important positions, Kangress has won...

Kangress actually winning in UP. Huh??? Thats a no-brainer.. Thats RIGGINNGGGG

Wait for next wave of terrorism & price-rise.
It is about to begin now..
