Never before has any one not born in Kerala or not educated here or not proficient in Malayalam registered an electoral victory in the state.
How about Banatwalla, who was an MP from Ponnani?

India is maturing as a democratic country. See Bihar results which prove that even backward states want to vote that party which is development oriented only.Sashi Tharoor & the few eminent persons like him should actively participate in Indian Polity now to give the country its due. Congratulations all the Voters!

Unlike what the author of this article says, Tharoor would have won even as an independent. He did not win beacuse of his congress (a tainted political party) connections but because of his personal achievements and clean record.

Tharoor may have one as an independent, but qas rightly said in the article itself, he would have remained as an independent only, but nothing else.

Tharoor is a good candidate. No doubt. But in Kerala hardly any independent won with out any party support.I hope you remember MrB.G Varghese was defeated.
